Just a few days ago, she likely imagined she’d be relaxing on the couch, watching ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ on Saturday night.
Okay, so I’m *freaking out* right now! Apparently, Amber Davies is stepping in on the show tonight! Can you believe it?! It’s amazing, but also, poor Dani Dyer fractured her ankle during rehearsals, which is awful. But still… Amber! I’m so excited to see her on there now!
Twenty-eight-year-old Ms. Davies, the winner of the ITV dating show last year, will only have one day of practice with her professional partner, Nikita Kuzmin, before they perform live on television.
She described getting ready for the show’s first live performance this week as incredibly busy, but added that she’s used to performing in front of an audience thanks to her experience in West End theatre.
Managers were rooting for 29-year-old Ms. Dyer to do well in the competition, but she sadly withdrew on Tuesday after receiving results from an MRI scan. She is a mother of three and is understandably heartbroken.
Although her beginning was unusual, Ms. Davies is likely to succeed thanks to her extensive experience, including leading roles in popular musicals like Pretty Woman, 9 to 5, and The Great Gatsby.

Oh my gosh, when she announced she was doing Strictly, it was absolutely insane! Seriously, the next 24 hours were just… the craziest of my life! I was glued to my phone, refreshing everything, and it was just a whirlwind of excitement. I mean, *she* on Strictly?! It was everything I’d hoped for and more!
She shared that she’s been watching Strictly Come Dancing with her family for years, and joining the show as a contestant feels like a dream fulfilled.
I’m determined to give my best effort, and I’m wishing Dani a quick recovery. I hope I can make her proud.
She recently posted a picture of herself with Mr. Kuzmin practicing a waltz at the dance studio.
‘Rehearsals in full swing,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘Thanks for all the love, still in shock!’
Ms. Davies started her career in entertainment by studying at the Urdang Academy in London, a well-respected performing arts school, and graduated in 2016.
She had taken dance as a GCSE subject at school and trained at Danceworld Stage School.
Before she became *the* star we all know and love on Love Island, she was already hustling! Can you believe she was a dancer at Cirque Le Soir in London? So glamorous! And even *before* that, she was singing backup on The X Factor! Seriously, is there anything she *can’t* do? I knew she was destined for greatness!

When she joined the ITV dating show in 2017, Amber introduced herself, saying she was a 20-year-old dancer.
She also competed on ITV’s Dancing On Ice last year, coming fourth.
She previously claimed her dance background wouldn’t help her skating, telling the Daily Mail she’d actually had to discard much of her dance training for the sport.
In dancing, maintaining straight legs is key, and it’s important to relax and move freely while skating.
Following her appearance on Love Island, she quickly landed several roles in West End productions, even performing alongside Olympic gymnast Louis Smith in the musical *Bring It On*.
Her next role is the lead in an upcoming Legally Blonde musical.
Bookmakers immediately recognized her potential – as soon as she joined Strictly, they made her a top contender to win.
