Master League was a long-standing, popular mode in the original Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) series, before it became eFootball. While it was a key part of the earlier games, Master League hasn’t been included in eFootball for over four years, since the game’s release. We are now in the 2026 season and fans are still waiting for its return.
Players are eager to find out when the popular Master League mode will return and what changes to expect. This article will address those questions, explaining the structure, release date, and new features planned for Master League in eFootball 2026.
Master League in eFootball 2026
I love Master League! You start by picking a team and basically become the manager. That means you’re in charge of everything – finding new players, selling ones you don’t need, figuring out the best way to play, and even managing the club’s money. Then you compete against other teams all season long, and the dream is to win the league and all the big trophies, both at home and abroad. It’s seriously addictive!
Structure of the Master League
Master League lets you live out your football management dreams. You choose a club from any league worldwide and then compete to win championships, mirroring a real-world football setup.
Let’s look at the “My League” feature added to eFootball 2024 in update 3.2.0 Season 3 as a good example. It’s the game’s most league-focused experience, letting you use your customized Dream Team to compete against AI opponents in leagues around the world.

Master League offers a more realistic experience, letting you develop players and manage your team. You’ll find real player names and have the freedom to choose flexible formations, much like in the Dream Team mode.
The main screen for this mode shows your league standings, recent news, and other important information. As for players, each one has a specific role, and you can add them to your team by signing them or taking them on loan.

As a fan, it’s always a bit bittersweet when the season’s going on and some of my team get called up to play for their countries! Usually, it’s just a couple of players from one or two national teams at a time, which is good because they’re usually only gone for about a week before they’re back with the squad.
Features of the Master League
A standout feature of this mode is its endless gameplay – unlike FIFA Career Mode, you can keep playing Master League for as long as you want, potentially building a legendary football club over many seasons. Plus, it includes fantastic cutscenes that add to the experience.

What really sets Master League apart is how you manage players. Instead of having multiple versions of the same player like in Dream Team mode, you work with realistic, up-to-date players, and the transfer system adds a lot of excitement. Playing offline helps keep things fair, preventing cheating, and you can adjust the difficulty to match your skill level.
The game features a Youth System where players can develop promising young talents for the future. This system lets you monitor their progress and improve their skills. You can even train these youth players directly by assigning them specific abilities and scheduling regular training sessions. However, the Youth System may be updated in eFootball 2026.
When will the Master League release in eFootball 2026
In August 2021, Seitaro Kimura, the producer of eFootball 2022, announced that Master League would be included in the mobile version of the game. Despite this announcement over a year and a half ago, the popular game mode still hasn’t been released on any platform.
I’ve discovered some new code related to Master League in eFootball 2023, specifically version 2.4.0. It seems to include details about cutscenes featuring 13 different roles – like directors, medical staff, and interviewers – that appear during gameplay.

Development is progressing well, and a release seems likely, potentially with updates to a popular game mode. A player recently discovered information within the game’s code about character roles and demo cutscenes, hinting at an imminent launch. However, these details are based on old rumors, and as of August, the situation hasn’t changed – a release date remains unconfirmed.
Final Thoughts
Master League has long been a favorite part of the eFootball series, providing a detailed and captivating experience for those who enjoy managing a football team. It’s expected to maintain its familiar format, with fresh features and enhancements added in future updates.
