‘My younger self would be horrified by my mum life’: Binky Felstead pokes fun at her Made In Chelsea party girl days as she opens up on ‘chaotic’ family and how she found ‘happily ever after’

Binky Felstead says she’d be surprised if she could see how much her life has changed from what it used to be.

The mother of three became well-known through the reality show Made In Chelsea, but she left in 2017 to concentrate on her pregnancy and care for her daughter, India.

She’s become a well-known ‘mom influencer’ and has also returned to television with her own show, a spin-off of Made in Chelsea called Beyond Chelsea.

Binky has confessed that her younger, more carefree self from her days living in Chelsea would be shocked by her current life. She now lives in South West London with her husband, Max Darnton, and their three children – eight-year-old India, four-year-old Wolfie, and two-year-old Wilder – and admits things are quite chaotic.

You know, as someone who’s seen a lot of lifestyles come and go, let me tell you what ‘mom life’ really looks like these days. Just the other day, I was completely covered in glitter and stickers before breakfast – and honestly, I didn’t even blink! It’s those little moments of joyful chaos that really define it, isn’t it? It’s just accepting that things are going to be messy and embracing the fun along the way.

She confessed that her younger self would be shocked by her current life, but now it just feels like a natural part of being a mother – and she wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Binky spoke to the Daily Mail at the opening of the new Disney Store in Selfridges this week, sharing her joy about having a ‘happily ever after’ with her family.

She described her ideal life as finding joy in everyday moments – being home with loved ones, everyone in good health, and sharing laughter together at the dinner table.

For us, happiness comes from simply enjoying the people and places around us – appreciating the strong sense of community we have right here. That’s all we need for a fulfilling life. It’s not about extravagance, it’s about love.

Binky shared advice for other parents experiencing the same challenges, explaining that she prioritizes taking some time for herself each day.

She shared that she likes to get up before her kids to exercise or enjoy a peaceful cup of coffee. These little moments, even just ten minutes, really improve her mood and help her feel prepared for a busy day. It’s a way to recharge before things get chaotic.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve found one of the biggest game-changers for parental wellbeing is disconnecting from the comparison trap on social media. Honestly, it’s so important not to put pressure on yourself to be ‘perfect.’ There’s no such thing! Every family is unique, and the key is figuring out what rhythms and routines work best for *you* and your loved ones. Forget keeping up with the Joneses – focus on building a life that feels good for *your* family.

It’s natural to compare yourself to other parents, particularly when you see them online, but everyone is just doing their best and figuring things out as they go. Remember to be gentle with yourself – your kids need your love and attention far more than they need you to be perfect.

Binky tries hard to embrace this ethos on her Instagram page, which boasts 1.4million followers.

Honestly, I’ve always loved how she *never* pretends life is perfect. She just lays it all out there – the crazy, sleep-deprived nights, the constant struggle to balance everything, even running out the door with a cold coffee and a million things to do. It’s so relatable, and that’s what I adore about her. She doesn’t gloss over the messy parts, she *owns* them!

People connect with me when I share both the good and the bad, the joyful and the messy-when I’m real. I believe being honest has been the key to my connection with others, whether it was during my time in Chelsea or now as a mother.

After a hectic day, this family has a reliable way to relax: watching a Disney movie together on the sofa. They say it helps them disconnect from stress and reconnect with each other, creating peaceful moments they truly cherish.

Disney is opening new stores in several locations this fall. The London store at Selfridges will open on September 25th, followed by the Manchester Trafford Centre on September 29th. Stores in Birmingham Bullring and Manchester Exchange will open on October 13th.
