Imogen Poots says ‘no one on the outside sees what you share with another person’ as she finally breaks her silence on split from ex-fiancé James Norton

The former couple began dating in 2017 before getting engaged in 2022.

Imogen recently discussed her breakup in an interview with Tatler magazine, but she didn’t reveal many details.

She said: ‘It’s always so absurd. No one on the outside sees what you share with another person.’

Responding to questions about her personal life, she shared a thought: ‘I often remember how much attention was given to Meryl Streep’s dating life when she was in her twenties.’

You know, looking back at photos of her, it’s striking how different things were. We see tons of glamorous shots from movie premieres, but very few candid moments of her just living her life. It really highlights how much the celebrity culture has changed over the years.

When asked if she was dating anyone, Imogen didn’t reveal much, only responding with a vague, ‘Not really.’

Imogen gave an interview while posing for Tatler’s November cover, looking radiant and relaxed as she sat in a director’s chair.

The actress from Need for Speed briefly had her pale yellow leather jacket open, showing her brown bra.

She paired the racy look with a cream skirt and black pointed heel boots. 

Imogen looked stunning in a black gown with a low neckline and no straps, as seen in a recent close-up photo.

Daily Mail previously told how Imogen did not want her split from James becoming public.

An insider close to the situation said: ‘Imogen, for whatever reason, didn’t want people to know.’   

James and his now-partner first became romantically involved in December 2017, shortly after his two-year relationship with Jessie Buckley, a singer and actress, ended.

The couple first met in 2017 while performing in the play Belleville at the Donmar Warehouse and began dating after that.

In 2020, Imogen, known for her role in the film *The Father* alongside Anthony Hopkins, began living with James in his London apartment, and they eventually established a home together.
