Kate Gosselin’s ex reacts to shock claim she is now dating the same man she was linked to when they were wed

Jon Gosselin publicly accused his ex-wife, Kate, of infidelity on Wednesday. Their son, Collin, supported Jon’s claims.

The 48-year-old reality star suggested that Kate, his 50-year-old ex-wife, had a romantic relationship with her former bodyguard, Steve Neild, also 50. He believes this affair happened while they were both famous from their reality TV show and led to the end of their marriage.

Jon shared a photo of Kate and Neild on Instagram, along with a link to a Page Six article about their relationship. He suggested they weren’t just dating, but getting back together.

‘Guess who really ruined the marriage,’ Jon said. ‘Read for yourself.’

The reality TV personality, originally from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, said he wasn’t taken seriously when he first made his claims, but recent events have proven him right. He expressed his frustration, stating, ‘Hopefully people will listen to me now!’

The Daily Mail has reached out to reps for Kate for comment on the story.

He explained that he was deeply hurt by the fact that his mother had an affair with their bodyguard in 2009. What made it even worse was that, for years, she would share hotel rooms with him during family vacations, while he stayed in the next room, aware of what was happening.

Collin added: ‘Now everyone thinks her being with him is some cute novel romance.

My dad faced years of public backlash, including death threats, because of rumors about an affair and accusations of abandoning his children.

Collin explained on Instagram that his intention wasn’t to cause drama, but to clarify how things actually are within the family, as there have been some misunderstandings. He was responding to rumors, as Jon has previously stated he did not cheat on his spouse.

I generally avoid unnecessary conflict, and I’m really focused on college, my job, and my business, so I don’t appreciate getting involved in drama. That said, I strongly believe that cheating and then trying to blame someone else is unacceptable.

People think my dad and I are still stuck on my mom, but that’s not true. We’ve both been deeply hurt by a narcissistic person and have supported each other through it.

Collin finished by explaining that they won’t pretend to be healed by simply creating content on TikTok while still struggling with past hurts.

Jon and Kate Gosselin and their family became famous thanks to their TV show, *Jon & Kate Plus 8*, which aired from 2007 to 2009.

The couple married in 1999 and later had twins, Madelyn and Cara, followed by sextuplets – Aaden, Hannah, Leah, Alexis, Collin, and Joel – conceived through in vitro fertilization. They divorced in 2009.

After the divorce, the show was renamed “Kate +8” and continued for six more seasons, finally ending in 2017.

In a 2025 interview with E News!, Jon revealed he hadn’t talked to his former wife, Kate, for about seven years.

He explained that they hadn’t been speaking to each other, and he believed the last time he actually heard her voice was back in 2018.

In a recent TikTok post, Kate discussed her approach to parenting, explaining that she makes decisions based on how she herself would like to be treated. She acknowledged this applies whether or not someone is a parent.

I refused to participate in the negativity and conflict, especially because my children were involved, and I wanted to create a calm environment for them.
