Petit Planet is HoYoverse’s “cosmic life simulator”

HoYoverse, the creators of Genshin Impact, are entering the cozy life simulation genre with a new game called Petit Planet. It’s similar to Animal Crossing, but with a unique space-themed setting.

HoYoverse has announced its new game, Petit Planet, which is similar to Animal Crossing but set in space. They call it a “cosmic life sim” and have shared a preview of the gameplay, characters, and how to register for the beta.

Petit Planet reveal

HoYoverse, the company behind Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero, unveiled the trailer for their new game, Petit Planet, on September 25, 2025.

The trailer for “Weave Your Dreams beneath the Stars” gives us a glimpse into the world of Petit Planet. It features typical life simulation activities like farming, fishing, crafting, and cooking – think of it as HoYoverse’s version of Animal Crossing. However, Petit Planet offers something unique: a cosmic element. Players can build relationships with charming neighbors and also embark on interstellar adventures through Starsea Voyages.

You’ll start with your own planet, and your friends can connect theirs to it. Each planet is brought to life with unique landscapes, all shaped by its vitality, called Luca.

The game will also let you personalize things! You can change your characters’ clothes, decorate with furniture based on different themes, and use Luca’s powers to reshape the world around you.

The game doesn’t have a release date yet. HoYoverse has said it will be available on PC and mobile, and they’re also working on versions for other platforms.
