A new Overwatch 2 comic called ‘Reconciliation’ has revealed more backstory about characters like Ramattra, Zenyatta, Null Sector, and Talon. The comic shows a meeting between Ramattra and Zenyatta in King’s Row.
Ramattra and Zenyatta reunite in new Overwatch 2 short story
The latest Overwatch 2 comic begins in King’s Row, a few months after Null Sector’s attack. Ramattra, Zenyatta, Widowmaker, and Sombra are all present beneath the statue of Mondatta, but Ramattra asks Widowmaker and Sombra to leave so he can speak with Zenyatta alone.

New Overwatch 2 Reconciliation comic explained
Standing before the statue of his former mentor, Ramattra reflects on Mondatta’s hopeful, but ultimately unrealistic, belief that humans and omnics could live together peacefully. He remembers traveling the world, much like the Aurora initiative, and realizing his efforts to help a world unwilling to save itself were in vain.
The scene shifts to Symmetra and Lifeweaver collaborating on their research. However, this doesn’t change Ramattra’s mind, as he’s haunted by the hardships his people have faced. Zenyatta argues that Null Sector also causes pain and division, but Ramattra believes the suffering he brings is lesser than the cruelty humans are capable of.

Will Zenyatta join Ramattra’s Null Sector?
Ramattra explains he’s discovered a way to protect and liberate his people, and believes he could have helped even more if Overwatch hadn’t interfered. Zenyatta responds that Overwatch has aided both humans and omnics. Ramattra insists he isn’t a villain, and asks Zenyatta to join him now that his plan is underway. However, Zenyatta declines, pointing out that even if he agreed, it wouldn’t change the fact that Null Sector’s allies in Talon killed their mentor.

Ramattra makes one last plea to Zenyatta, warning that Talon’s ambition and willingness to betray others could soon endanger the entire world. The scene then cuts to a shadowy figure wielding a massive sword, likely a tease for the next playable hero.

Zenyatta believes the answer is finding peace, but Ramattra is convinced peace with humans isn’t possible. Despite this, Zenyatta feels he can’t give up on either his own people or humanity, believing there’s still good in the world worth protecting.

Ramattra and Zenyatta have differing views, but Ramattra believes Zenyatta will eventually see things his way. They part ways, each continuing to pursue their vision of peace.
