G-STAR Taps Jordan Hemingway and Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren for Anatomic Denim Drop

Dutch fashion brand G-STAR has returned for the new season to launch the Anatomic Denim range.

The new collection stays true to the brand’s focus on movement and the human form. Building on the classic Elwood design, this range features clean, modern lines and comes in a unique indigo wash. It also introduces new styles like the Contor and the Kitoh, offering denim fans a more polished fit.

The launch of Anatomic Denim isn’t just about a new line of clothes; it represents a fresh creative direction for G-STAR. They’re introducing the range with unique collaborations with art director Jordan Hemingway and taxidermists Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren. Hemingway’s campaign explores the construction of denim by showcasing athletes wearing the new pieces, but without their usual equipment, to highlight the beauty of their bodies and the clothes’ design.

Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren use their taxidermy skills to create a remarkably realistic gorilla sculpture covered in denim. The artwork highlights the gorilla’s muscles and blends the texture of the fabric with its form, making them appear as one. After being showcased at fashion events in Amsterdam and Copenhagen, the sculpture is now exhibited at the Art Zoo Museum in Amsterdam.

According to Hemingway, G-STAR is a well-established brand that consistently seeks to innovate and challenge conventions. He described a recent project with them as incredibly stimulating, presenting both creative and technical hurdles. Hemingway found the collaborative problem-solving process to be not only fulfilling but also genuinely enjoyable.

You can now shop the Anatomic Denim range on G-STAR’s website and at select retailers.
