Marvel consistently delivers new movies and shows to its fans, both in cinemas and on Disney+. Among all the Marvel content, the *Guardians of the Galaxy* films are particularly beloved. Right now, fans seem equally upset about two things: the new lineup of Guardians in *Vol. 3* and the fact that these cosmic heroes likely won’t be in the next *Avengers* movie.
Details about the upcoming *Avengers: Doomsday* movie are scarce, but it will bring together several superhero groups. Fans were disappointed that the cast reveal didn’t include the Guardians of the Galaxy, and some are even criticizing the team’s lineup as seen in the final moments of *Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3*. Here’s a closer look at what’s happening.
Some Marvel Fans Don’t Love The New Guardians Lineup.
Talk about the new Guardians of the Galaxy started on Twitter, and fans are sharing what they think. It all began when someone suggested the team isn’t appearing in *Doomsday* because the version of the team we saw in *Vol. 3* wasn’t very strong. Here’s a look at what people are saying:
- I just realized Feige’s not even including the Guardians in Doomsday because of this fuckass lineup – @BatKilmer
- I can’t believe they ruined the guardians like this – @ArthurFlexk
- Yup! It sucked. And I’m sick of seeing his fucking brother in everything! – @Caliber50MG
- Adam warlock is carrying that team – @MP65366955
As a big fan of the Guardians, I was definitely surprised by how things ended in *Vol. 3*. It felt bittersweet seeing the team split up! Peter Quill, or Star-Lord, finally went back to Earth to reconnect with his grandfather, which was really touching. Mantis struck out on her own, deciding to explore the galaxy with those adorable Abilisks. And it was heartwarming to see Nebula and Drax stay on Knowhere and dedicate themselves to raising the kids they rescued from the High Evolutionary. It felt like everyone found a good place to be, even if it meant saying goodbye to the team as we knew it.

With the team needing a new leader, Rocket stepped up to guide the Guardians of the Galaxy. He was joined by Groot, who’s bigger than ever, along with Kraglin, Cosmo the Spacedog, Adam Warlock, and Phyla. It’s an unusual group, but they still pack enough power to be a real threat.
Other Fans Are Mad The Guardians Aren’t In Avengers: Doomsday
This series of tweets sparked debate about the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but many people were also disappointed to hear the team likely won’t be in *Avengers: Doomsday*. Here’s what some of them said:
- I don’t get why they didn’t include them tho. Their movie is like the fourth highest grossing marvel movie since endgame, and this line up would be fine if you included star lord which they probably will – @JamalCrip69304
- Need groot and rocket back in doomsday and maybe Adam warlock, then maybe in secret wars we see a small battle with the whole team – @MarkJr2001z
- Very good point. How come the new GOTG is not in Doomsday? Maybe they will appear in Secret Wars. – @deadkoolx
- You can’t say this when the Thunderbolts are in there… – @YngJackieAprile
It’s obvious many fans are hoping for more Guardians of the Galaxy adventures. However, it’s uncertain if we’ll actually see the team return to theaters, particularly now that James Gunn is leading DC Studios. Although the end of *Vol. 3* hinted at Star-Lord’s eventual return, the rest of the Guardians might not appear again.
Many fans are excited about the possibility of seeing the Guardians of the Galaxy in the upcoming *Avengers: Secret Wars* movie. Because the story will involve the multiverse, almost anything could happen, making a Guardians appearance plausible. We’ll find out for sure as The Russo Brothers release their next two Marvel films.
You can now watch all of the *Guardians* movies on Disney+. Plus, *Avengers: Doomsday* is currently scheduled to come out in theaters on December 18th of next year, as part of the 2026 film lineup. We’re hoping to hear more about what’s next for the *Guardians* team soon.
