An accident involving Tom Holland during filming of Spider-Man has temporarily halted production, costing an estimated £10 million.
The 29-year-old actor is recovering after a minor head injury sustained on set last Friday.
Paramedics were previously called to Leavesden Studios in Watford and transported Tom to the hospital for medical care.
A source connected to the film has shared that the on-set accident wasn’t as serious as first reported, although the lead actor did receive a head injury.
The source explained that the accident wasn’t serious. A rope broke on a safety device, and he just got a minor head injury.
Production was scheduled to resume filming in London on Thursday, but it’s been paused for two weeks.

A source told The Sun that Tom has been resting after a possible concussion, and everyone wants to make sure he’s fully recovered before returning to work.
An East of England Ambulance Service representative stated they received a call at 10:30 AM on Friday regarding a patient injured at Leavesden Studios in Watford.
‘An ambulance was sent to the scene, and the patient was transported to hospital for further care.’
Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the fourth movie in the Multi Cinematic Universe, reportedly cost around $200 million, which is about £150 million.
Despite the filming chaos, the movie is still on track for its July 2026 release date.
The Daily Mail reported that the production halt is expected to cost company leaders a staggering £1.5 million each day.
Even with production temporarily halted, costs for things like crew, studio rentals, and equipment will keep accumulating, according to industry insiders.
Pausing filming is always difficult for a production, but for a movie this big, it’s a major problem for everyone involved – the producers and the studio especially.

The team continues to require payment even with the delay, and we also need to account for expenses at the alternate location.
Everyone’s top priority is staying healthy and safe, but the whole team is eager to resume filming as quickly as possible.
Film director Emeka Egbuonu explained to the Daily Mail that a movie like Spider-Man, with its $200 million budget, has incredibly high daily expenses.
When you consider all the costs involved in making a big-budget movie – including the actors, crew, filming locations, equipment, and the entire support system – each day of shooting can easily cost between $1.5 and $2 million (about £1.1 to £1.5 million).
Just because filming stops doesn’t mean all the expenses stop too. Costs like crew salaries, set upkeep, and equipment rentals keep adding up even when cameras aren’t rolling.
He explained that this will be a major financial loss for the studio, and will likely create more stress on their production schedules and deadlines.
Although the complete cast list isn’t official yet, Tom is reportedly going to appear in the newest movie with Sadie Sink, known for her role in Stranger Things.
Zendaya, the actor’s real-life fiancée, plays Peter Parker’s girlfriend MJ.
Tom was first spotted filming in Glasgow this summer, and the city was made to look like New York City for the new movie.
