Margot Robbie has recently been getting a lot of attention for her striking red carpet looks, especially the revealing dresses she’s worn while promoting her new romantic movie.
People are amazed by how quickly the Australian actress has recovered her figure after giving birth to her son in October 2024. She and her husband, Tom Ackerley, recently welcomed their new baby.
Recently, a concerning pattern has appeared online where women are becoming overly focused on a particular person’s body and trying to lose weight in ways that aren’t healthy.
A new online trend has emerged where women are posting videos of themselves pretending to eat, often showing they’re actually consuming nothing but ice or air. This is reportedly happening as a playful nod to actress Margot Robbie, 35, and her recent red carpet appearances – and Margot herself isn’t aware of it.
Okay, so Lucy Claire – seriously, follow her, she’s amazing – just posted the most important thing on Instagram! She’s totally calling out this awful trend I’ve been seeing everywhere, and honestly, it’s about time someone did. She’s explaining how dangerous it is to restrict your eating, like, really dangerous for your body. I’m so glad she’s using her platform to talk about this, it’s so important!
People are worried that fans are trying extreme diets to lose weight after seeing Margot Robbie wear revealing dresses on red carpets while promoting her new movie, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, alongside Colin Farrell.

Okay, so my absolute FAVORITE creator, she’s from South Africa, posted this video last Wednesday, and everyone’s been talking about this new trend, but she didn’t just *do* the trend, she totally put her own spin on it! It was amazing, honestly. I’ve rewatched it like a million times!
Despite claiming she was only eating ice or air, Lucy was caught enjoying a substantial meal of rice and beef stew, revealing she was actually eight months after giving birth.
She said a new trend has emerged where young women are pretending to eat things like ice or even air for breakfast, seemingly inspired by Margot Robbie’s red carpet appearances.
It might sound funny, but it’s important to be clear: you can’t get in shape by starving yourself.
Poor nutrition – specifically, not getting enough protein, carbohydrates, and fats – can frequently trigger a pattern of overeating followed by restrictive dieting. This cycle can increase inflammation and cause fatigue, making it harder to be active and for your body to heal and rebuild.
Restricting your diet can create a harmful cycle. When you don’t eat enough, your body feels stressed and you may feel down, making it even harder to eat normally, and leading to further restriction.
It’s hard to learn and feel proud of what you’ve achieved when you’re not getting enough to eat.
‘Things lose their enjoyment and anxiety and depression increases.’

Lucy explained that people who severely limit their food intake often end up dreading enjoyable events and withdrawing from social situations, as food is usually central to celebrations.
She explained that people often become more critical of their bodies because of distorted thinking and self-criticism.
Ugh, it’s like, everyone thinks getting back to normal eating after being so strict is a *good* thing, but honestly? It terrifies me. It’s like, when I was restricting, it was a way to feel in control, a secret I could keep. But now, facing food again… it feels so exposed. There’s nowhere to hide anymore, everything is just… out there. It’s scary, really scary.
Dealing with difficult emotions and past traumas can be incredibly challenging, but ultimately it can also be a very freeing experience.
Okay, so Lucy just posted, and honestly, it *wrecked* me, but in a good way? She said getting better is just…hard. Like, really, really hard. But then, she told everyone – *everyone* – to try and bring some goodness back into their lives, to really *nourish* themselves and feel alive again. It was so simple, but so powerful. I’m definitely taking notes!
