Recent reports caused some concern about *Spider-Man 4*, sometimes referred to as *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, after Tom Holland, the main actor, had an accident on set. This led to a temporary halt in filming and a trip to the hospital for Holland.
Tom Holland sustained a minor concussion last week while filming his latest Spider-Man movie at Pinewood Studios in London.
Production on the movie got temporarily halted. Sony’s having a meeting early this week to figure out what to do next, so we’re all waiting to see what they decide.

Deadline reports that filming has been paused for another week and will start up again on Monday, September 29th.
Hey everyone, just wanted to give you an update on why things have been paused on the project. Apparently, I needed to get checked out at the hospital, but thankfully I wasn’t admitted. The big issue, though, was that they couldn’t really work around my situation while I was getting things sorted, so they had to temporarily shut down filming. I’m taking the time to recover and hopefully we’ll be back on track soon!

Good news, everyone! Even though things are a little behind schedule, the release date isn’t changing. That means I’m still on track to see the new Spider-Man movie at the end of July next year, and I’m super excited!
With almost a year until the release of *Brand New Day*, Marvel currently has no other movies scheduled. This aligns with statements from Disney CEO Bob Iger about reducing the number of superhero films following negative reactions from fans.
We’ve realized that simply making more of something doesn’t automatically make it better. We’ve also all agreed that trying to produce too much led us to lose some of our concentration.
We think Marvel will produce higher-quality films if they streamline their efforts and concentrate more on movie production.

This is the last Marvel film before the next *Avengers* movie, so it’s particularly important. The story is expected to be more grounded after the events of *No Way Home*, where everyone forgot Spider-Man, and it will be interesting to see how, or if, it leads into the larger, multiversal storyline that’s coming.
Whatever happens, Holland has promised that it will be “absolute gold”.
The new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, is scheduled to come out on July 31, 2026. You can currently purchase Spider-Man: No Way Home on streaming services like Prime Video and iTunes, as well as through other online stores.
