Spider-Man 4 Update Suggests MCU’s Hulk Will Be Scarier Than Ever Before

A new MCU rumor suggests that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will be scarier than ever before in Spider-Man 4.

The next Spider-Man movie, currently titled Spider-Man 4 or Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is being made now. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi, is directing, and Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. It’s scheduled to come out in July 2026.

What is the new Spider-Man 4 update?

Alex Perez, a reporter for The Cosmic Circus, was asked about Hulk’s potential role in the upcoming Spider-Man 4 and Avengers: Doomsday. While Mark Ruffalo hasn’t officially been confirmed for either Avengers: Doomsday or the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, many believe he’ll appear in at least one of them.

“Hulk is scarier than ever before,” Perez answered. “He might even kill someone.”

Details about the stories for both Spider-Man 4 and Avengers: Doomsday haven’t been officially released yet, so this information is currently just a rumor and shouldn’t be taken as confirmed.

When questioned about the possibility of a World War Hulk or Planet Hulk adaptation, Marvel’s Perez indicated that a project was still being developed, but offered no specific information about it.

The upcoming Spider-Man 4 will feature Zendaya returning as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, and Jon Bernthal as the Punisher. Michael Mando will reprise his role as Scorpion, a character who hasn’t appeared in a Marvel movie since 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Joining the cast are Trammel Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Sadie Sink, though their roles haven’t been revealed yet.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is scheduled to premiere in US cinemas on July 31, 2026, as the latest installment in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Doomsday will follow on December 18, 2026.
