Gold Logie winner Samuel Johnson shares troubling photos of himself burning items on his country property: ‘Sometimes I do what I shouldn’t’

Samuel Johnson has worried people after posting pictures of himself burning things on his rural property in Victoria.

The Gold Logie winner, 47, smiled for the camera in two photos, with a large fire visible behind them.

In the caption he revealed why he decided to set alight his items.

I’m not perfect when it comes to being eco-friendly, so if that bothers you, please feel free to stop following me. I care about all of you, and I absolutely believe in the reality of climate change and the greenhouse effect.

Everyone makes mistakes. I’m no different – I sometimes do things I regret. And if I’m being honest, there are times I indulge in things I shouldn’t, and surprisingly, I find some pleasure in them.

The actor from Rush explained that working on the film was therapeutic, offering him a welcome break from his own difficulties.

It allows me a few moments to focus on something peaceful amidst all the turmoil. I’m currently struggling with a misguided goal, and I know I’m going to fail, he said.

‘But I must try. And burn some s**t along the way. Sorry not sorry.’

Osher Günsberg recently shared that individuals are responsible for their own reactions to constructive criticism or difficult truths. He also emphasized the importance of accepting progress, even if it’s not flawless, rather than letting the pursuit of perfection hinder improvement.

‘You are light. Love ya dude,’ added Boy Swallows Universe author Trent Dalton.

Daily Mail has reached out to Samuel for comment.

Samuel has long been open about some of the ways he has managed his personal struggles.

The actor revealed in May that he’d taken a job as a mail carrier in his town, and explained how it’s helped him avoid excessive drinking.

Last year, the actor known for playing Evan Wylde on the TV show *The Secret Life* announced he was volunteering as a mail carrier in Tallarook, Victoria.

He announced he would be working for Australia Post on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

The rural town has a small population of 950 people and is an hour north of Melbourne.

Samuel admitted the job helped him fight the urge to drink every night.

Look, I’m just being honest, I *love* a drink. It’s a good time, always, but I think… I think I maybe love it a little *too* much, you know? I told them on Australian Story, it’s just… it’s a real thing for me.

‘Having a postie round makes sure there’s three nights of the week I’m not misbehaving.’

The actor, originally from Daylesford, started drinking heavily after his ex-girlfriend died in 2006, and he believes this deeply affected his emotional well-being.

The Johnson family experienced a devastating loss early in Samuel’s life. His mother died by suicide when he was less than a year old, not long after his father had left.

In late 2005, a close friend he’d acted with in short films at the Victoria College of the Arts tragically died by suicide.

In 2017, Samuel experienced another heartbreaking loss when his sister, Connie Johnson, passed away after a long fight with breast cancer. She was only 40 years old.

Earlier this year, Samuel made a significant change in his life as a touching tribute to his sister, Connie, who had passed away.

He recently shaved his head at a community event to support Love Your Sister, a charity created in memory of Connie.
