Matt Goss, 56, reveals he’s engaged to jewellery designer girlfriend Chantal Brown as he shares hopes he’ll reconcile with estranged brother Luke

Matt Goss, a popular singer with many teenage fans in the 1980s, is getting married after being single for many years.

The singer from Bros, who will be 57 next week, has asked his girlfriend, jewellery designer Chantal Brown, to marry him.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star shared the happy news with me at a London fashion show: they’re engaged and planning their wedding!

‘She’s going to make a honest man out of me.’

Chantal was previously married to actor Paul Nicholls, 46, who played Joe Wicks in EastEnders. 

She tells me: ‘True love is the secret to our relationship working out.’

She shared that wedding plans are progressing nicely, and the ceremony will be held in London.

Despite the good news, Matt Goss shared that he remains distant from his twin brother and former bandmate in Bros, Luke Goss.

I’m hoping my brother and I can resolve our disagreements in the new year. He means the world to me – he’s my best friend and the person I love – and I want to heal the emotional distance between us, as Goss explained.

Goss didn’t want to explain what caused the falling out, but he suggested that his friend might just need some distance. He pointed out they share a birthday, grew up together, and went to the same school, implying a long-standing connection.

It’s just… he *gets* me, you know? Truly gets me. And honestly, I feel like I understand him better than anyone else does. It’s frustrating that things are messed up, and I really, really hope we can fix it. We just *need* to find a way to make things right.

Matt is hoping the pair can get back on stage like previously warring brothers Oasis.

‘There’s no good reason for us not to do it,’ he says. 

I really hope my brother and I can resolve our issues and reconnect. We used to enjoy going out together, and I miss those times. It would mean the world to me if we could be close again.

In 2022, Matt shared that he’s a romantic and hoped to marry his girlfriend, Chantal. He had recently returned to London to be closer to her.

The celebrity, known from Strictly, left Las Vegas after ten years to move to London and be nearer to his partner.

He told The Sun that he was thrilled, saying they could now start building a normal life together – enjoying simple things like going to the movies, trying out local restaurants, and watching England games.

‘It’s a beautiful thing. I feel very fortunate to be able to have love back in my life.’

When asked about getting married, he said, ‘Absolutely. If you’re in a relationship, you hope it lasts forever, and that’s what we’re aiming for. I’m a hopeless romantic.’

Chantal and Paul first crossed paths in 1997 while she was dating a friend of his. They later started a relationship of their own in 2005.

Three years after they first met, the couple had a small, private wedding near their home in Hampstead, North London. Paul described his new wife as his soulmate, saying he couldn’t imagine being with anyone else.

Chantal was a model with Storm, the agency founded by Kate Moss, and appeared in commercials for brands like Oil of Olay and Cornetto ice cream.

The pair then divorced in 2015 and Paul has remained tight-lipped on his love life since.

Chantal faded out of public life following their divorce, before being linked to the Strictly star.

Luke Goss, the singer from the band Bros, revealed he was dating someone in March 2022. He has previously been linked to celebrities like Melanie Sykes, Rebecca Ferguson, and Martine McCutcheon.

The singer, who ended his last relationship because his ex-girlfriend spent too much time on her phone, described his current relationship as ‘wonderful and refreshing’.
