Rising musician D4vd is currently being investigated by police in connection with the disappearance of 13-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who went missing from Lake Elsinore, California, last April.
The teenager’s decomposed body was found in the trunk of the artist’s Tesla after it was impounded.
Now the 20-year-old singer’s 2022 song Romantic Homicide is back on the Billboard 200 chart.
The popular song reached over 12 million streams on Sunday, and listeners are closely examining its unsettling lyrics, which appear to suggest a murder.
Oh my gosh, you guys, the song is *blowing up*! I checked Spotify this morning and it’s already at number eight! It’s doing amazing on YouTube too, and I’ve been streaming it non-stop on Apple Music. I’m seriously obsessed and can’t believe how well it’s doing!
Okay, let’s talk about this song and its video. It’s a really disturbing piece – the lyrics depict someone essentially destroying a woman psychologically, and showing absolutely no remorse. What makes it even more unsettling is the music video; the woman featured in it strongly resembled the artist’s ex-girlfriend, which adds a whole other layer of discomfort and speculation. It’s a tough watch, honestly, and definitely raises a lot of questions about the artist’s mindset.

A part of me always knew you were gone, but I surprisingly didn’t shed a tear. I’m tired of hoping for someone who will never come.
He then softly sings about a dark confession: he admits to having wished someone harm, even feeling no remorse about it. He’s shocked he could even say it, but ultimately reveals he truly hates this person.
A previous interview from March is also gaining attention, where he explained that his song “Romantic Homicide” actually represents two sides of himself: Itami, a murderous alter ego (with “Itami” being the Japanese word for pain), and the detective who pursues him.
The set up is a bit like Ed Norton’s alter ego played by Brad Pitt in Fight Club, he explained.
D4vd’s music continues to gain popularity, with his songs ‘Feel It’ and ‘Here With Me’ currently ranking at numbers 38 and 39 on the Spotify chart, respectively.
Okay, so you will NOT believe this! I was digging through everything this artist has ever done – seriously, *everything* – and I found this demo track, ‘Celeste_Demo unfin,’ from December 2023. It’s like, a hidden message or something! Everyone online is buzzing because we think it holds a major clue about what happened to that poor teenager. It’s insane, honestly – a song could actually help solve this case! I’ve listened to it like a million times, and I swear there’s something there…
As a huge fan, discovering details about Celeste Rivas through the song was heartbreaking. The lyrics really painted a picture of who she was before she passed. It’s so raw – she talks about ‘the girl with my name tattooed on her chest,’ and how she could still smell and *feel* Celeste everywhere, even in something as simple as breathing. It’s clear the singer was completely consumed by her – utterly obsessed.
The lyrics then suggest the artist is detailing a romantic connection with the person he’s singing about.

This collection of lines expresses a complex emotional state. It touches on themes of vulnerability and insecurity in a relationship, with a fear of being loved only for physical appearance. The speaker admits to feeling down about missing someone, but quickly shifts focus, acknowledging a tangent in their thoughts.
It was not immediately clear if D4vd was singing about Rivas in the track.
This comes days after D4vd canceled the remainder of his US tour.
Police searched the singer’s house in the Hollywood Hills on Thursday as part of their investigation into the death of teenager Hernandez.
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know that D4vd has unfortunately had to cancel his final two shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles. His team made the call yesterday, and I know this is disappointing for those of you who had tickets, but they felt it was the best decision. We’ll keep you updated if anything changes!
The singer has also canceled a scheduled appearance at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on Wednesday, according to the report.
He’s still scheduled to perform in Norway on October 1.
This news comes after D4vd’s record label decided to postpone the release of a special edition of his album, Withered, and canceled related events.

A recently surfaced photo of the singer with Rivas, who would be 15 today if she were still alive, hinted at a romantic connection between them.
A photo shows D4vd and a young person sitting together in a green booth at a venue. A flash from the camera is reflected in a mirror behind them.
Rivas and the TikTok star seemed close, with Rivas looking at them with affection.
D4vd wore a black shirt featuring a white spider on the front – the same shirt he had on when he met Billie Eilish in the fall of 2023.
It comes after police raided the singer’s house searching for blood evidence.
Police officers removed several bags of evidence and a computer from the Hollywood Hills property, which costs $20,000 a month to rent.
D4vd has not been formally charged with any violation as of Friday.
The Daily Mail has contacted D4vd, also known as David Anthony Burke, for a response.

In an stream from January 2024, Rivas encourages D4vd to answer a question from a viewer.
D4vd shared a TikTok video of someone slicing lunchmeat, implying it was how he’d react to a partner who was speaking with other people.
People commenting on the TikTok video noticed the rapper seemed to really like the clip, which reminded them of the unsettling discovery made in California earlier this month.
One user said: ‘This makes me utterly sick watching this, knowing she was found dismembered.
‘Poor girl, justice for Celeste.’
One person joked, ‘Let’s smile, we’re about to be in a documentary!’ Another suggested investigating the artist’s social media activity, specifically looking through everything he’s liked and reposted.
Reflecting the widespread fascination with true crime, one social media user joked, ‘It feels like everyone’s life will eventually become a Netflix documentary.’
Brayan, the creator of the original video showing someone chopping vegetables, has stated that he wasn’t thinking about the artist D4vd when he posted it.
Brayan explained that his TikTok video was a joke, playing on a popular cucumber trend, and wasn’t about anything happening in the news or anyone famous.
He explained the video was simply intended as entertainment and wasn’t connected to any investigation. Brayan added that he hadn’t known who D4vd was until recently.
