Sarah Jayne-Dunn recently had her first tattoo removed and says it was incredibly painful – ‘the most painful thing I’ve ever experienced,’ she admitted.
Former Hollyoaks star, 43, shared on Instagram Monday that she began laser hair removal three years ago.
Sarah, known for her role as Mandy Richardson on the show from 1996 to 2021, revealed she once tried a treatment with four sessions spread over eight weeks, but it didn’t relieve her pain.
The ex-soap star labelled her laser removal ‘more painful than birth’.
Sarah recently shared on social media that she’d faded her old tattoo enough to cover it up and then got a new tattoo over the top.
Sarah shared a story about getting her first tattoo in New York when she was in her late 20s. She’d envisioned a small, delicate butterfly, but the final result was much larger, darker, and didn’t really resemble a butterfly at all.

The ink faded and ran over time, eventually becoming an indistinct smudge. Considering it was created during a relationship with someone who later proved to be unreliable, the whole piece now feels unpleasant to look at.
She explained that about three years ago, she began laser hair removal. She had four sessions, spaced eight weeks apart-and she said it was the most painful experience of her life, even more so than childbirth!
Each treatment caused painful swelling, blisters, and intense itching. I only went through four sessions because the discomfort was unbearable, but the tattoo still didn’t completely disappear. I tried one more session about a year later, and now it’s faded enough that I can cover it up with a new tattoo.
The telly star then revealed her new ink – which was intricately covering up her lasered tattoo.
In place was a stunning hummingbird design.
I’m so excited for Sarah! After leaving Hollyoaks, she quickly jumped into a new career path – she’s now teaching pole dancing, and she’s also been really successful creating content on OnlyFans. It’s great to see her doing her own thing and thriving!
Her employers told her she had to stop posting provocative photos or lose her job, and she decided to resign. However, she has consistently justified her choice to continue with the work to those in charge at the television network.
Not only does she do OnlyFans, but now dances too.
The mom recently posted photos of herself in a thong and announced she’s given her first lesson.

She told The Sun she had a wonderful time and praised all the women involved, saying she’s thrilled for them as they begin their own experiences with pole dancing.
She expressed feeling supported and accepted for who she is, without fear of judgment. She noted how unusual and valuable that kind of safe space and community feels, and said she feels very fortunate to have found it.
Before teaching her very first class, Sarah shared with her followers that she was feeling a bit nervous.
The TV star shared on Instagram that she’s both thrilled and nervous about teaching her very first beginner pole dancing class!
I’ve been doing pole fitness for over two years, and it’s become a really important part of my life. I started shortly after the lockdowns ended, just before my 41st birthday, because I wanted to find an activity that was both enjoyable and challenging.
I was instantly captivated from my very first class. It began as a way to get exercise and challenge myself, but it’s become much more than that – I’ve gained strength, confidence, and found an amazing, encouraging community who truly support each other, even physically!
Sarah shared that she recently began private lessons with a new pole dancing instructor, and she’s already noticing improvements she didn’t think were possible.
I’m excited to start teaching others what I’ve discovered. My classes are designed for complete beginners, or anyone who wants to refresh their fundamental skills!
I’m thrilled to be returning to teach at the very studio where my own pole journey started – PoleGym Holmes Chapel! It feels full circle, and I’m so excited to share the incredible feeling of empowerment that pole dancing can bring to others. It’s truly amazing to help people discover their strength and confidence through this art form.
