Molly McNearney, wife of Jimmy Kimmel, was seen out in Los Angeles on Sunday while her husband deals with the fallout from his recent suspension from ABC.
The 47-year-old writer, who worked on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for over ten years, appeared sad while walking with her eight-year-old son, Billy, and their dog over the weekend.
She was relaxing and dressed casually in a light blue Howard Stern hoodie, black leggings, large sunglasses, and sneakers.
This report surfaced only a day after Stern publicly addressed Kimmel’s suspension from broadcasting.
Stern expressed his strong disapproval on his SiriusXM show Monday, stating that a situation was escalating rapidly. He specifically criticized ABC, claiming they had made a foolish and deeply offensive decision.
The radio host continued, discussing a friend and the situation with Jimmy Kimmel. He stated that the details of what happened at ABC are well-known, and his opinion isn’t necessary to understand that something terrible occurred.

The radio host quickly came to the defense of both Jimmy Kimmel and his wife, Molly McNearney, telling his audience that they are both incredibly funny and talented people – some of the funniest he’s ever known.
Stern believes this situation is a distraction tactic, meant to divert attention from more pressing issues like rising inflation, gas prices, and grocery costs.
Neither McNearney nor Kimmel has spoken publicly about the sudden suspension, which has caused a big reaction in Hollywood and sparked intense online discussion.
For years, McNearney has openly criticized President Donald Trump, both in her comedy and through her social media posts.
This involves criticizing Trump, 79, for the 34 criminal charges related to falsifying business records, and highlighting that a significant number of women – roughly one in three – now live in states with abortion bans due to the Supreme Court justices he appointed.
In 2022, a mother from Missouri shared her thoughts on gun control via Twitter, stating, ‘I’m #WearOrange today because sending children to school shouldn’t be dangerous. We need to ban assault weapons, require background checks for all gun sales, and elect leaders who prioritize children’s safety over guns.’
Jimmy first met Molly in 2004 when he hired her as a writer’s assistant, but they didn’t become a couple until 2010, after his five-year relationship with comedian Sarah Silverman ended.
As someone who juggles a lot, I’ve always been a big believer in keeping work and personal life completely separate. I’m really good at mentally ‘compartmentalizing’ things – meaning I can focus on whatever’s in front of me without letting other areas of my life creep in and cause stress. It’s a skill I’ve honed over the years, and it really helps me stay balanced.

When we’re working from home, our dynamic shifts. By 10am, he takes charge like a boss, not a husband-though he jokingly calls himself my ‘husboss,’ a term I’m not willing to use!
McNearney says their first conversation was a bit awkward, when she thinks back to when they first met.
I’ll never forget meeting him – he immediately insulted me! The executive producer introduced me as his new assistant, but Jimmy barely glanced up from his work. Then, when my EP mentioned I compete in triathlons, Jimmy looked up and said it was ‘really stupid’ and a ‘waste of time.’ That was pretty much the only thing he said to me during my first year working there, as far as I can remember.
She said she never imagined their work relationship would become romantic, explaining that they were both already seeing other people and it’s generally understood you shouldn’t date your manager at work.

After twelve years of marriage, the couple are the proud parents of Jane, age eleven, and Billy, age eight. In 2017, Billy’s courageous battle with a rare heart condition, which required open-heart surgery, captured the nation’s attention.
Jimmy Kimmel’s wife, Molly McNearney, is also the stepmother to his two grown children: 34-year-old Katie and 31-year-old Kevin. Kimmel shares these children with his ex-wife, Gina Maddy, whom he divorced in 2003 after 14 years of marriage.
She’s also written for the Oscars in 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024, and contributed to the writing for the 2024 Freeform series, *Chrissy & Dave Dine Out*.
ABC unexpectedly cancelled his show, and sources say her husband was completely shocked by the decision, which came after his comments about Charlie Kirk.
Jimmy mentioned on his show that he was disturbed by attempts from supporters of Donald Trump to distance themselves from the person who allegedly attacked Charlie Kirk over the weekend.

‘And doing everything they can to score political points from it.’
It’s currently unknown whether ABC plans to remove Kimmel as the host of the revived game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
The recent cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s “The Late Show” is being seen as a warning to other late-night hosts who frequently discuss politics, especially Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers.
Donald Trump celebrated the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel’s show on Wednesday, posting on Truth Social that it was ‘great news for America’ and highlighting its previously low ratings.
It’s good to see ABC take necessary action. Jimmy Kimmel isn’t performing well, and his ratings are actually lower than Stephen Colbert’s. That leaves Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers on NBC, but their numbers aren’t much better. NBC needs to make some changes.
