Kate Moss jokingly called her hero, David Bowie, a ‘mean person’ after he teased her for being unable to wear one of his famous costumes.
The 51-year-old supermodel was good friends with the singer, who sadly passed away from liver cancer in 2016 at the age of 68. She recently appeared on a BBC Radio 6 Music podcast to discuss his artistic development from 1970 to 1975.
Kate famously accepted an award on behalf of the singer at the 2014 BRIT Awards while wearing one of his Kansai Yamamoto jumpsuits. However, ten years prior, she had difficulty fitting into one of his outfits after giving birth to her daughter, Lila, who is now 22.
She told Nick Grimshaw on 6 Music that she was thrilled because the last time she’d worn those clothes, she’d struggled to fit into them. She explained it was shortly after giving birth and one of her first jobs after maternity leave.
During our first meeting in 2003, he immediately started criticizing me, asking if the clothes I wore didn’t fit. He was incredibly rude and made a really harsh remark.
‘But no, obviously fabulous, because that’s banter isn’t it. He had banter’.

She described her final interaction with Bowie, explaining that she sent him a video for his birthday. In the video, she held up a large ‘Happy Birthday D’ sign, sat on a stool, and sang the song ‘Mr Bojangles’ directly to him.
It arrived, and shortly after, I was getting ready for bed when I heard the news – it was devastating. I immediately called Noel Gallagher, and he already knew what had happened. He just said, ‘I know.’
The podcast series, David Bowie: Changeling, includes previously unreleased interviews with the legendary musician David Bowie.
The film also includes fresh interviews with people who were close to and influenced by the artist, such as Boy George, Chrissie Hynde, Dave Gahan, Edward Enninful, Elton John, Goldie, Iggy Pop, Harris Reed, Robbie Williams, and Twiggy.
Kate recently shared that David Bowie was an incredibly special person to her, more than just a friend. She described him as a fascinating and mysterious figure.
I was thrilled to work on this project for 6 Music and BBC Sounds, exploring the fascinating five years in David Bowie’s life. It was amazing to hear from the people who collaborated with him and those he continues to influence, and to share the story of his incredible creative evolution.
‘This podcast is a real celebration of my friend, a true British icon.’
This podcast includes a special interview with its creator, Des Shaw, recorded back in 2001, and a recently discovered audio clip from the BBC’s archives.

The collection also featured archived conversations with notable figures like Lady Gaga, Sinéad O’Connor, Lou Reed, and Tracey Emin.
Oh my god, the show *really* delved into Bowie’s beginnings – like, seeing footage of him with The Hype was incredible! And they went deep into his obsession with Andy Warhol, which totally shaped him. But the best part? Seeing how *Ziggy Stardust* and The Spiders From Mars came to life! It was like witnessing magic happen all over again.
This follows Lulu’s statement that David Bowie suggested she ‘lose some weight’ while they were collaborating.
75-year-old Lulu, known for her hit song ‘Shout,’ is sharing details about her relationship with a famous figure in her upcoming memoir, ‘If Only You Knew,’ which comes out on September 25th. She’s currently preparing for a UK tour later this month.
She revealed that while recording music, Bowie had started staying up all night, a habit she later learned was due to his cocaine use, as reported by The Sun.
She explained that she and David had a couple of days off and planned to record the songs “The Man Who Sold the World” and “Watch That Man.”
I’ll never forget it. It was the very first night, and we were just sitting there, and David – *David* – just casually said, “Maybe you could lose a bit of weight.” Honestly, it felt like a punch to the gut. I was completely floored, and it’s stuck with me ever since.

They worked together on a few songs throughout the years, but he never finished a full album due to his career demands and struggles with drug use.
I always thought Lulu and her partner had something special, even if it didn’t last. She’s talked about it before, calling the relationship ‘amazing,’ and she’s been really open about how their incredible connection – the chemistry, really – was what first drew them together. It was a powerful thing, even if it was brief.
She also shared how music brought them together, and mentioned a collection of unreleased songs they recorded while they were a group.
The tracks have never been heard and – nobody knows where they are.
DailyMail has contacted Lulu’s representatives for a comment.
