Tom Holland “taking a break” from Spider-Man 4 filming after on-set injury

Tom Holland reportedly paused filming on *Spider-Man 4* after getting hurt on set. Producers are expected to decide today how to move forward with the movie.

According to *The Hollywood Reporter*, the actor received a minor concussion while filming the *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* sequel last Friday. He’s expected to take a few days off to recover.

The report also states that Sony, the production company, is meeting today to discuss next steps, and thankfully, no one else on set was hurt.

Holland was discharged from the hospital and made an appearance at a pub quiz hosted by his charity, The Brothers Trust. He was joined by his siblings, his partner Zendaya, and his Spider-Man co-star, Jacob Batalon.

One of the prizes up for grabs was a round of golf with the actor himself.

Holland recently shared that he contributed more to the creative process for this film. He explained that he spent time online researching fan reactions and discussions between the releases of *Spider-Man: No Way Home* and *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*.

I focused on understanding what audiences wanted and then presented my ideas to Marvel. Thankfully, they agreed, and that’s the direction we’ve taken with the film. It’s been a really enjoyable experience bringing the movie to life.

This is the first time I’ve been involved in this stage of the project, and it’s been quite stressful. However, now that filming has started, I think we’re capturing some truly amazing footage.

Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of *Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings*, is taking over as director, replacing Jon Watts who directed the last three films.

Details about the story are scarce, but the ending of *No Way Home* saw everyone – even Peter Parker’s friends – forgetting he was Spider-Man. Now, instead of facing huge, global dangers, the hero is focusing on smaller, local crimes.

The Punisher and the Scorpion are also set to return.

The new Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, is scheduled to come out on July 31, 2026. You can currently purchase Spider-Man: No Way Home on platforms like Prime Video, iTunes, and other online stores.
