eFootball 2026 “Lionel Messi Edition” pack review

The Messi Edition is a highly desirable pack in eFootball 2026, highlighted by a powerful Epic card featuring Lionel Messi. Similar to the Lamine Yamal Edition, it offers a variety of players to improve your team, but the biggest draw is undoubtedly the inclusion of Messi himself.

Even though this pack features different Avatar Sets, Stadium Choreography options, and large props, many players will likely see it as a good way to improve their teams. So, is it worth the investment? Here’s my review and final thoughts.

eFootball 2026 “Lionel Messi Edition” pack contents

There are 11 players in total, and here’s a full breakdown of what you are getting with them.

Lionel Messi

  • Position: SS
  • Playstyle: Classic No. 10
  • Show Time skill: Visionary Pass

Playing in his familiar number 10 position, Messi is still incredibly impressive. He effortlessly glides past opponents with his exceptional close control, making it look easy. He’s equally capable of dropping back to set up plays or staying forward to score.

This player’s finishing and accuracy are both solid, around the 90s. While the pace and acceleration are good for a creator, it’s likely a step down if you already have other Messi cards. Passing is improved by the Visionary Pass ability.

This card isn’t very mobile, so it mostly stays in one place. Making runs is uncommon if you prefer a player who moves around a lot after passing. However, the player doesn’t contribute defensively, which helps maintain stamina. There are likely better card options available.

Mohamed Salah

  • Position: RWF
  • Playstyle: Roaming Flank

This Mohamed Salah card focuses on speed and moving towards the center of the field. He excels when he has room to run on the wing, quickly accelerating and cutting inwards to set up scoring opportunities. He also has excellent finishing ability, and this card consistently features impressive speed.

Dribbling with this card feels a bit clunky, not as fluid as other Salah cards I’ve played with. The physical stats are very low, likely because the game now features more physically imposing defenders.

Robert Lewandowski

  • Position: CF
  • Playstyle: Goal Poacher

This Lewandowski card perfectly captures his strengths as a player. He’s powerful in the penalty area, consistently finds good positions, and is a clinical finisher. The card’s stats in Awareness and Finishing are excellent, making him a fantastic option if you need a striker who can effectively get in behind the defense.

This card also performs well when played from the air. However, like many players have noted, its biggest flaw is a lack of speed, which is a key strength in the current game environment. It struggles against faster opponents, and many of its stats are relatively slow, sitting around the 80s.

Kevin De Bruyne

  • Position: AMF
  • Playstyle: Creative Playmaker

Kevin De Bruyne is a remarkably well-rounded attacking midfielder. He controls the flow of the game with incredibly accurate passing, quickly shifting the ball to different sides of the field, and creating scoring opportunities from all over the pitch. To get the most out of his exceptional skills, he’s best suited for players who excel with a ‘Creative Playmaker’ style of play.

He definitely has areas where he could improve – his endurance isn’t quite strong enough for a full game, and he struggles a bit with physical challenges and finishing plays. However, overall he’s still a valuable asset.

Luka Modrić

  • Position: CMF
  • Playstyle: Orchestrator

Modric excels at controlling the pace of the game. He’s quick on the ball, anticipates plays effectively, and remains calm under pressure, allowing him to dictate how the game flows. His passing ability is a major strength, and he consistently delivers in that area. However, his stamina and ability to win physical battles are potential weaknesses.

Reviews of other cards are like this:

  • Yassine Bounou (GK/Offensive Goalkeeper): A tall and secure goalkeeper who can deal with powerful long shots. Struggles sometimes in one-on-one situations, but I find him consistent in saving shots.
  • Stefan de Vrij (CB/Build Up): A reliable centre-back who thrives on discipline and positioning. Strong in duels and calm under pressure, though his lack of pace limits him against quicker forwards.
  • Chris Wood (CF/Target Man): A classic physical striker built for aerial battles and holding up play. I kind of like this card, but can totally see many binning this one, because of speed.
  • Nicolás Otamendi (CB/Destroyer): An aggressive defender who loves physical contests and throws himself into challenges. Brings that brash playing style, but that pace is a big no, sadly.
  • Jonathan Clauss (RB/Offensive Wingback): A hardworking fullback with energy to contribute at both ends. Offers width and overlapping runs, though not elite in attack or defense, more of a balanced option.
  • James Rodríguez (AMF/Classic No. 10): A midfielder who thrives on creativity. Dribbling is good on this card still, so nostalgic and fun are the keywords.

eFootball 2026 “Messi Edition” pack verdict and rating

This team feels particularly strong because it features top players at every position. While Messi is the biggest star, players like De Bruyne, Salah, and Lewandowski offer excellent value. However, these cards aren’t quite the highest-rated versions available.

While not every player is amazing, and there are a few weaker choices, this set is a decent purchase if you’re just starting out. However, if you’ve been playing for a while and aren’t focused on upgrading your stadium, it’s probably not worth the money.

Pack Rating: 2 out of 5
