Pregnant Katherine Ryan shows off her growing bump as she enjoys a day out with her family after hitting out at ‘hypocrite’ Thomas Skinner

Katherine Ryan, who is expecting a baby, was spotted with her children in Windsor on Saturday, proudly displaying her baby bump.

The 42-year-old comedian is expecting her fourth child. She and her husband, Bobby Kootstra, are already parents to four-year-old Fred and two-year-old Fenna. She also has a 16-year-old daughter, Violet, from a previous relationship.

Katherine was recently spotted out with two of her youngest children, whom she was pushing in a double stroller.

She was wearing a black and white flannel shirt over a black T-shirt and leggings.

Katherine opted for comfort for her walk as she slipped into a pair of black leather Chelsea boots. 

I’ve been so impressed with Katherine’s honesty about her journey to have a family. She bravely shared in 2024 that she’s experienced three miscarriages over the last five years, and I really admire her for speaking out about something so personal and difficult.

Katherine shared in November that she’d like to have more children, but is concerned about her age.

She jokingly explained that while she initially imagined being a father figure due to her work, she realized she was more like a grandmother to the children. ‘I get back pain, and I spoil them with treats – I’m just the fun grandma,’ she said.

Katherine spoke out after Thomas Skinner, a star on Strictly Come Dancing, claimed his wife had forgiven and forgotten his affair. She shared her thoughts on the situation following his comments.

Just weeks after marrying his wife, Sinéad, in May 2022, the reality TV star, 34, had an affair. He later described the brief relationship with Amy-Lucy O’Rourke as a mistake – a ‘moment of madness’.

Last week, Thomas publicly confessed to having an affair. In a tearful interview, he said the most important thing is to be honest and take responsibility for your actions.

‘Because we are in an incredible place now. We are strong. It’s forgotten about.’

In her podcast, Telling Everybody Everything, comedian Katherine criticized Thomas’s wording, explaining, “That’s not right. The word ‘forgotten’ is really upsetting to me.”

He seems to have moved on and doesn’t remember what happened, as far as he’s concerned. But I assure you, your wife hasn’t forgotten.

Katherine also pointed out that Sinéad was going through a difficult time when the affair happened – she was newly married and busy raising their three young children, making her especially vulnerable.

She added that shame is also a significant factor. Many women in these situations end up feeling responsible for a man’s wrongdoing, essentially taking on his shame as if it were their own.

She’s young and in love with him, but the betrayal was incredibly painful and unexpected. They seemed to have a good relationship – he even said they weren’t fighting – which makes it even harder to understand.

Katherine shared her opinion on the woman Thomas was having an affair with, using a highly offensive term to describe her. However, she also pointed out that Thomas’s wife isn’t obligated to deal with the situation, as there’s no agreement or responsibility on her part.

Her actions weren’t ideal, and the way she treated men might be considered disrespectful, but it’s actually quite clever to appreciate what they have to offer without getting too invested.

She shouldn’t be the woman at home who’s heartbroken, keeping what happened secret from her friends, and having her life turned upside down, only to then feel pressured to forgive someone famous from a reality show decades ago.

‘And he’s like, “it’s forgotten.” I promise you, your wife has not forgotten’.

Katherine believed the affair would continue to bother Sinéad, and thought she likely worried about it being revealed when he joined Strictly Come Dancing.

She called him a hypocrite, pointing out that he talked a lot about traditional values and the importance of family, even though he had been unfaithful.

Even though she made those statements, Katherine emphasized that she doesn’t harbor any negative feelings towards Thomas and was surprised by all the attention the story received.

She posted a clip from her podcast to Instagram and wrote that while she doesn’t think people should lose their careers over infidelity, there’s added public interest when someone on a popular family-friendly show is involved.

What this man confessed to is very common. This topic is what sparked so much anger in my comments last week. I maintain my belief that men cheat without any particular reason.

Amy-Lucy recently told the Daily Mail that she and Thomas had a three-month secret relationship. During that time, she says he told her he loved her and was unhappy in his marriage.
