Farmer Wants A Wife couple Clare Hockings and Brad Jones are engaged.
The couple, who captured hearts with their romance last year, announced their exciting news on Thursday.
Brad, 32, proposed to Clare while she was celebrating her 30th birthday with a small group of friends and family, according to New Idea.
Let me tell you, planning the perfect proposal takes a lot! This sweet guy had envisioned popping the question outdoors, right on their farm in Cootamundra, NSW. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans – a really nasty weather system rolled in with heavy rain and completely derailed his beautiful outdoor vision. It just goes to show, sometimes even the best-laid plans need a little adjusting!
Ugh, the weather that day was *awful* – seriously, rain was coming down sideways! But it was Clare’s birthday, and I had it all planned to happen *on* that day, no matter what. I just *had* to make it special for her, even with the storm!
Those plans fell apart when it rained all day! So, I ended up doing it inside the house.
Brad playfully pretended to have a knee injury to lure Clare back to the bedroom, where he surprised her with a marriage proposal. Their 21-month-old son, Roy, watched the sweet moment.
Clare and Brad first fell in love on the 13th season of FWAW in 2023.
They welcomed their first child together shortly after the show finished airing.
The couple made a quick appearance on this season’s show to share the exciting news that they’re expecting another baby.
Honestly, a wedding hasn’t even crossed our minds! We’re so focused on getting ready for our second baby, who’s arriving any day now, that it’s just not been a priority. That’s what I told Yahoo Lifestyle recently.
Planning a wedding seems like a lot, so we’re going to take our time and enjoy being engaged first.
Clare and Brad first sparked engagement rumours in December 2023.
Clare shared some Christmas photos on Instagram with her husband, Brad, and their new baby, Roy. Fans seemed to overanalyze the pictures.
One picture featured the couple with their baby next to a Christmas tree, and another showed a hand with an engagement ring gently holding their dog, Roy.
However, Clare was quick to quash the rumours.
She confirmed the photo didn’t show her hand, which stopped rumors that Brad had proposed.
