Reports suggest a rift has developed between Samantha Armytage and Osher Günsberg, coinciding with Osher landing a lucrative hosting gig on *The Golden Bachelor*.
Sam, age 49, will be the star of a new spin-off of The Bachelor. Osher, 51, hosted the Australian version of the show on Channel Ten from 2013 until it was cancelled in 2023.
According to a source, Sam has signed a very profitable three-year contract with Nine, earning significantly more than Osher previously did, as reported by New Idea on Friday.
Although the exact terms of Sam’s contract weren’t revealed, the report suggested she’s earning significantly more than Osher did at Ten.
‘It’s the ultimate burn,’ a source claimed.
Osher played a key role in saving the show, and now Samantha is its new star, earning a much higher salary than Osher did.

According to the source, differences in pay and the high status of the hosting role caused tension between Sam and Osher.
It’s a matter of pride. Osher was instrumental in creating the show, but Samantha has now become much more popular and well-known than he is, overshadowing his contributions.
Let me tell you, things were a little tense at the Nine Upfronts back in October. A source confided in me that while everyone was polite, there was definitely a shift in dynamic between Samantha and Osher. It’s pretty clear Samantha’s really become the star now, and Osher is aware of that.
Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Nine, Sam and Osher for comment.
Channel Nine hopes its new dating show, The Golden Bachelor, will be a hit with Australian viewers, scheduling it to air immediately following the popular renovation program, The Block.
Those closest to the production insist Sam is simply doing what she does best.
‘It’s just good TV,’ a production insider told Daily Mail.
‘And she’s a pro. She knows exactly how to play the part.’

These reports follow Samantha’s recent denial of a romantic connection with Golden Bachelor star Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden. The rumors began after they appeared together on the red carpet at the Logies, leading people to speculate about a possible relationship behind the scenes.
During an appearance on Nova’s Chrissie Swan Show, the former Sunrise host and current host of Channel Nine’s dating show playfully dismissed rumors of a romantic connection with her co-star.
When asked about using her employee discount for personal gain, Sam jokingly responded, ‘You can’t host a show and then date the star! That wouldn’t be very fair, would it?’
Let’s be real, everyone was asking about Bear! I clarified that while he’s a fantastic guy – truly wonderful – he’s just a friend. Honestly, so many amazing women were thrilled to meet him, there was a lot of excitement all around!
