Wynne Evans has stated he will always regret his controversial ‘spit roast’ comment made while on Strictly Come Dancing.
Earlier this year, the 53-year-old was filmed by the Daily Mail appearing to propose a three-way encounter with Janette Manrara, the show’s host and a professional dancer on Strictly.
The remark was made during a press event for the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing live tour and quickly drew criticism from BBC executives, who stated they would not accept that kind of conduct.
Wynne initially apologized, but later said he was pressured into doing so and that his comment wasn’t sexually suggestive. He explained he’d simply been calling fellow contestant Jamie Borthwick ‘spit roast’ as a playful nickname.
Following a review of his conduct, BBC managers informed Wynne that his annual contract wouldn’t be renewed, effectively ending his radio program.
In a recent interview aired on Friday, Wynne stated he would ‘regret’ his previous comment ‘for the rest of his life’.

Speaking on LBC radio, the former star admitted he was wrong to use the word and acknowledged he needed to take responsibility. He also said he wasn’t prepared for the public reaction and regretted his actions.
‘I wouldn’t blame anybody other than myself.
I completely own up to my mistake; it was something I really shouldn’t have done, and honestly, I know I’ll always regret it. It’s something I’ll carry with me forever.
Losing all my singing, TV, and radio work at 53 was incredibly difficult, but I take full responsibility for what happened.
In the interview, Wynne mentioned he regrets not leaving Strictly Come Dancing sooner, when his mental health started to decline, but he also spoke positively about the show.
He pointed out that it’s impossible to fully anticipate the intense media attention this show receives, meaning every action is closely examined.
Wynne said she regrets not leaving her position sooner, specifically when she started experiencing mental health issues and feeling uncomfortable.
Reports indicate that BBC executives are continuing to support the Strictly Come Dancing star recently accused of cocaine use by a disgruntled former acquaintance.

Despite facing accusations and an ongoing investigation that began in July, the show’s cast member – who is reportedly deeply distressed – has been given a prominent role in the new season.
According to a source, the BBC is frustrated with Wynne’s disruptive behavior on *Strictly Come Dancing*. They’ve demonstrated strong support by keeping Wynne involved in this year’s season despite the issues.
Katie Hind of the Daily Mail reported that the BBC faced significant pressure to remove the celebrity from the dance competition.
Last month, The Sun newspaper reported that Matthew Wynne submitted a legal complaint to the BBC in March, through his law firm Russells, alleging drug use.
Wynne, now hosting a radio show through his website, has also publicly stated that he informed the BBC’s director general, Tim Davie, about unlawful actions that occurred during the show’s production.

Earlier this month, Wynne started a fan club and gave members the chance to win a long weekend staying at his home in Wales.
Fans can support him financially through his website by becoming ‘Wynners’ – it costs £4.10 per month individually, or £6.50 for a couple.
Club members will enjoy benefits like quarterly contests, priority access to bookings, and a regular newsletter.
A three-bedroom house in the Welsh village of Llansteffan is up for grabs! Six people will win a free seaside getaway in this quarter’s prize draw.
