Wanda Sykes reveals how she was impacted by Jimmy Kimmel’s shock show suspension

Wanda Sykes was upset to learn Jimmy Kimmel’s show was cancelled just as she was about to appear on it.

The 61-year-old comedian spoke out in support of Jimmy Kimmel after ABC temporarily suspended his talk show, ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, following criticism of his remarks regarding the passing of Charlie Kirk.

Sykes said she was on her way to the studio to film an appearance on Wednesday’s episode when she found out the show had been cancelled.

On Monday’s show, Jimmy Kimmel faced criticism for comments he made about Republicans and Donald Trump’s MAGA movement after a conservative political influencer was killed.

After her unexpected suspension, Sykes finally spoke out, but had to cut her statement short and return home after initially preparing to address the situation.

Along with Sykes, Jay Shetty, a popular podcaster, and Christian Petroni, a well-known chef, were heading to the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood for the show.

She voiced her support for Kimmel and criticized Trump and his administration, claiming they suppressed free speech.

The actress had changed into a T-shirt but was still in full glam in her video.

So, I was watching her video and she started by saying she’d gone all-out with her makeup! Turns out, she was headed over to Jimmy Kimmel’s show for an interview – that’s why she looked so fantastic!

As you may already know, Jimmy Kimmel’s show was suddenly taken off the air because of complaints from the Trump administration, she went on to say.

She pointed out that while he hadn’t resolved the conflicts in Ukraine or Gaza quickly, he did significantly restrict free speech within his first year in office.

Shaking her head, she said, ‘If you’re a praying person, now would be a good time. I love you, Jimmy.’

Following the removal of Kimmel’s show, numerous Hollywood celebrities, including Sykes, publicly expressed their outrage at ABC and quickly came to his defense.

Jimmy Kimmel is reportedly furious about what happened and is already planning his response, preparing to take action soon.

ABC is planning a special program to honor the life and career of the recently deceased conservative commentator, and it will air instead of Jimmy Kimmel’s regularly scheduled show.

After hearing the news, Trump praised the temporary pause of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, calling it ‘fantastic for the country’.

He even urged NBC to fire Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers next.

The issue began when Kimmel made controversial remarks about the shooting of Kirk in Utah last week, and suggested that supporters of ‘MAGA’ were attempting to exploit the tragedy for political gain.

Jimmy Kimmel suggested the person suspected of the shooting might have conservative views, even though investigators said 22-year-old Tyler Robinson held far-left beliefs and was dating his transgender roommate.

Okay, so, Jimmy Kimmel totally hit the nail on the head. It’s infuriating! Trump’s fans are seriously scrambling right now, desperately trying to pretend that the guy who attacked Charlie Kirk isn’t one of *them*. They’re twisting themselves into knots and trying to make this about something else, anything to avoid admitting their own people might be capable of this. It’s all about scoring political points with them, even when something awful happens. It’s just… unbelievable!

The talk show host also made a pointed joke about Trump, sarcastically wondering how he was handling the situation. This was followed by a clip of Trump avoiding the topic and instead talking about renovations to the White House ballroom after a reporter expressed sympathy for the loss of an acquaintance.

After his remarks, just before Jimmy Kimmel was about to start recording Wednesday’s show, a representative from ABC stated the episode was canceled, with no immediate plans to reschedule.

Nexstar, the network’s affiliate group, said it ‘strongly disagrees’ with Kimmel’s remarks and will replace his show with different programs in the areas where it broadcasts ABC.
