Casey Donovan shows off her weight loss as she enjoys date night with fiancée Renee Sharples at MJ The Musical in Melbourne after revealing wedding plans

Casey Donovan has stepped out for a date night with her fiancée Renee Sharples.

The winner of Australian Idol recently went to see MJ The Musical in Melbourne with her partner, and they looked cozy together on the red carpet.

The 37-year-old highlighted her recent weight loss with a vibrant outfit: a sparkly orange top paired with a sleek black blazer.

Casey showed off her fit figure with a pair of coordinating trousers and completed the outfit with black heels.

Casey opted for a warm and radiant makeup look, featuring coral lipstick and natural curls in her hair.

Renee chose a green shirt with a bug print under a black blazer and added a pair of skinny jeans.  

Earlier this year, Casey opened up about her upcoming wedding. 

She announced her engagement to her long-time partner in June last year.

Casey shared an update on wedding plans during an interview on The Project.

Okay, seriously, I was already completely captivated by Casey’s hands – those nails are EVERYTHING – but then I noticed the ring! It’s huge! When Susie pointed it out, I nearly died laughing, and Casey just seemed to bask in it. Honestly, it was a perfect moment, and I’m still thinking about it!

The singer shared that a year ago, during their last two weeks of vacation, they visited Tasmania and got engaged.

‘So, you’re wedding prepping as well?’ Susie asked, referencing Casey’s current hectic schedule.

Casey playfully replied, ‘Definitely not!’ and then shared that the couple is still actively planning their wedding.

‘We keep chatting about it and we’re like: ‘Do we have something big? Do we have something small?’

Casey revealed that she and Renee were planning to tie the knot in June last year. 

The theatre star proudly displayed her large diamond ring while snuggling with her girlfriend, sharing the sweet moment Renee proposed.

Casey shared that on June 21st, 2024, under the strawberry moon coinciding with the winter solstice, the person they love proposed, asking them to spend their lives together.

Meeting you changed everything for me. ‘Home’ wasn’t just a building anymore – it was you. Even though you’re free-spirited, I knew I wanted to share my life’s journey with you, and that’s when I said yes!

Casey became well-known at just 16 when she won Australian Idol in 2004, and people started speculating in September 2021 that she was secretly engaged to her girlfriend, Renee.

The actor connected with Renee, a paramedicine instructor, on the Bumble dating app, and they began dating via Zoom video calls during the 2020 Covid lockdown.

Casey shared with Woman’s Day that she felt both anxious and thrilled about meeting Renee. When they finally talked, Renee was witty and seemed like a genuinely kind person.

It was really thoughtful of Renee to have our first Zoom date set up like a café, and even sweeter when she asked me what coffee I’d like, she said.

I remember Renee saying she knew Casey from Australian Idol, but what struck me was that she didn’t let that initial recognition color her opinion. She went into things with an open mind, which I really appreciated – she didn’t have any pre-formed ideas about what Casey would be like.

We never anticipated this, it was a complete surprise! But we’re truly enjoying life together, and I couldn’t be more content,” she shared.

Casey also recently partnered with weight loss program Juniper to help achieve her fitness goals.

Casey explained to Daily Mail Australia in April that she’d been focusing on her own health and fitness for a few months when she was contacted.

She explained that since she was already taking medication to lose weight, she wanted some additional support and guidance.

I thought about it for a while, and since I was already taking medication, I realized I needed some additional support, she explained.

It arrived when I really needed it. I was previously trying to manage my weight using bits and pieces from other programs, just figuring things out as I went along.
