Georgia May Foote recently opened up to her fans about her vitiligo, admitting it’s been particularly difficult for her lately. She shared the personal health update on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old actress, famous for her role as Katy Armstrong on the ITV soap Coronation Street, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram.
She posted a photo of her hand, showing pale white patches, and explained that the skin condition was getting worse.
Georgia emotionally penned: ‘Having this condition is really really getting to me at the moment.
‘I have NEVER seen it spread so fast. My skin is literally itching so bad as it does so.
I saw a dermatologist nine months ago, and they put me on the waiting list for light therapy. I haven’t received any updates since then.

I checked in two weeks ago, but was told that once a referral is made, they’re no longer involved. It’s frustrating – another potential solution has disappeared after five years of trying to resolve this.
She added: ‘I’m literally getting covered now. Has anyone had any luck with Protopic without uvb?’
Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune disorder that causes patches of skin to lose pigment or color.
This happens when the cells in your skin that make color, called melanocytes, are damaged and die, causing the skin to become pale or milky-white.
Vitiligo can affect skin all over the body, and it can even appear in places like hair or inside the mouth, says the Mayo Clinic.
Georgia shared with her fans in 2022 that she had a health condition, after spending years going to doctors to find out what was wrong.
I remember her telling me it really impacts her arms, hands, and feet – she said she was constantly getting new spots appearing. It was heartbreaking to hear how much it affected her.
It shows up on both sides, and even though I try not to dwell on it, knowing I’ll have to live with it forever can be really discouraging, she said.

I wanted to share this and start a conversation about it. If it helps even one other person feel better, it will have been worth it, and it would mean a lot to me personally.
People began speculating that Georgia and her husband, Kris Evans, had separated after she was seen without her wedding ring.
The actor has also deleted all mentions of his wife from her social media accounts, and sources say they are likely getting divorced.
A friend of Georgia shared with The Sun that Georgia has been dealing with a difficult time lately, and it’s understandable that this has caused problems in her marriage.
She shared with friends that she’s hoping to rebuild her life after the devastating fire and is questioning whether Kris has a place in her future.
‘They are still on good enough terms to stay in their home together.’
Georgia has talked before about how difficult it was to find acting jobs after being let go from Coronation Street ten years ago.

Following her character’s dramatic death in a car crash on a popular show, the actress transitioned to reality television, appearing on programs like Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Juice. She also had a recurring role on the American fantasy series, The Outpost, in the early 2020s.
She explained on the podcast that when she returned in December 2020, she was shocked to find there were no job opportunities available.
Ugh, it was awful! All my favorite shows just *stopped* filming here in the UK, and everything got totally delayed. Then, a huge pile of new projects couldn’t even *begin*! It took *years* – seriously, like four whole years – for anything to finally see the light of day, and just when things were starting to recover, the writers went on strike! It’s been a nightmare for us fans!
Georgia explained that the past period has been incredibly difficult, and that’s why she’s been unusually quiet. She believes many actors globally would agree with her experience and could pinpoint the exact same timeframe of hardship.
