Rihanna fans freak out as they’re convinced she’s expecting baby girl after cryptic post

Rihanna is preparing for her third child, and many of her followers believe she’s having another baby girl, judging by her recent social media updates.

The 37-year-old singer revealed she’s expecting a baby at the 2025 Met Gala. She and ASAP Rocky are already parents to two sons: RZA, age 3, and Riot, age 2.

Ever since the news broke, people have been excitedly speculating that Rihanna is expecting a baby girl, but she hasn’t said anything to confirm or deny it.

She added to the rumors on Wednesday by posting the cover of HOMMEGIRLS Volume 14 on Instagram.

Rihanna showed off her baby bump on the magazine cover, wearing a green plaid shirt and pink cargo shorts.

‘HOMMEGIRLS VOLUME 14 feat. my next fashion killa,’ Rihanna captioned the post.

Fans were quick to weigh in and speculate about the new arrival.

‘Does it mean you’re getting your baby gurrrrrrrrl?!’ one asked.

Someone excitedly commented that they thought Rihanna’s upcoming baby would have a style similar to her Fenty fashion line, writing, ‘We’re getting a babygirl Fenty!’

A third added, ‘it’s like a gender reveal.’

A baby names expert recently attempted to guess the name that famous musicians will give to their upcoming child.

As a longtime Rihanna fan, I’ve been following the baby name speculation closely! I recently spoke with naming expert Colleen Slagen, and she told me that if she *had* to guess, she’d put her money on a name that’s a little different – something cool, surprising, and definitely connected to music. It totally fits Rihanna’s style, right?

The singer revealed in June that she’s having a baby girl, giving fans a clearer idea of what to expect.

Slagen suggested Rox, Roby, Rio, and Rae as potential baby names, noting that Rihanna’s birth name, Robyn, could also be a source of inspiration. She thought using ‘Roby’ or simply ‘Ro’ for a girl would be a sweet way to honor Rihanna’s name.

In July, Rihanna herself has confirmed that the first letter is already chosen.

The expecting mother of three shared with Entertainment Tonight that she and her partner, Rocky, have already agreed their child’s name will begin with the letter ‘R,’ and it’s something they completely agree on.

The admission makes it clear the tradition that started with RZA and Riot is set to continue.

Slagen, who wrote the book *Naming Bebe*, isn’t the only expert suggesting that parents are increasingly choosing unique and daring baby names.

According to a recent VegasInsider analysis, “Rebel” is the leading predicted name for Rihanna’s next child.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky chose distinctive names for their first two children: RZA, inspired by the Wu-Tang Clan, and Riot, a strong and confident name reflecting hip-hop style, according to a source.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the speculation around Rihanna’s next baby name, and it’s fascinating! Both RZA and Riot are strong, impactful names with real cultural significance. So, naturally, people are looking for something similar. I’ve actually done a deep dive – we’re talking *thousands* of words from her songs – and one name keeps popping up that feels just right: Rebel. It has that same cool edge and meaningful vibe that she clearly loves.

VegasInsider reports that while Rogue, Ryder, and Royal are also being considered, Rebel is currently the frontrunner, performing best in both design and data analysis.

When asked which name starting with ‘R’ felt cool, powerful, and a bit edgy, Slagen immediately offered her top picks.

‘Rebel, Rad, Rasta, and Renegade,’ she predicted.

She also believes music will continue to inspire the couple’s choices.

It’s likely the name was chosen to honor A$AP Rocky, possibly referencing his birth name, Rakim, or one of his song titles.

And while edgy names may be expected, Slagen says Rihanna could pull from her Caribbean roots, too.

‘Raeni, meaning queen, or Requiem are two R names I could see for them,’ she suggested.

As for classic or traditional names? Don’t hold your breath.

Slagen believes Rihanna might choose a classic name, perhaps a variation of Richard or Robert, or even a name with biblical origins like Ruth, but ultimately expects her to pick something surprising.

Slagen and the VegasInsider data team both agree that Rihanna won’t settle for anything ordinary.

‘I don’t think you will know someone with this name,’ Slagen insisted.

If past choices are any indication, she’s probably right.

Rihanna is due to give birth this fall, sometime between September to November.
