Adventureland Entrance Sign Returns To Magic Kingdom — Did Disney Change it?

The entrance sign for Adventureland at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, Florida, is back after being missing for several weeks.

This isn’t simply a restored sign; it’s brand new. A cast member told us the Adventureland sign was completely replaced and put up on September 15, 2025.

While the sign is brand new, it doesn’t have any changed elements from it’s previous iteration.

The Sign Went Missing

By August 14, 2025, the Adventureland sign was gone. Disney cast members took it down between August 9th and 13th. We originally reported on the sign’s removal in an article published on August 18, 2025.

Magic Kingdom Removes Iconic Adventureland Sign – Refurbishment Or Another Modern Update?

Disney didn’t say when the sign would reappear, or if it would be updated in any way. After being missing for over a month, fans were curious about its return, and whether it would be replaced with something completely new, similar to the changes made at the Tomorrowland entrance.

Refurbishment Or Rebrand? Neither

Dedicated Disney enthusiasts wondered about the fate of the classic Adventureland sign, which has always greeted visitors with a sense of both excitement and slight apprehension.

I’ve always loved the Adventureland sign – it used to have these cool skulls, spears, and jungle masks. A few years ago, a group called “Stories Matter” decided some parts of the Jungle Cruise ride were problematic and made some changes, though honestly, most people didn’t even notice. Now I’m wondering if they’ll turn their attention to the sign itself and try to change that too.

Thankfully, no. It appears the new sign is the same as the one that came before.

A Sigh of Relief

Now that the sign is back up, fans are happy to see it. Although it looks the same, it’s possible the materials were improved to withstand the weather and require less upkeep. The long wait of over a month was unexpected.

Since the sign was brand new, it’s surprising it wasn’t immediately put up. Previously, replacements like this were usually done quickly, overnight, so guests wouldn’t notice any disruption. However, under the current park management, this sign was missing for over a month.

Bad show, Disney. Or as Captain Hook might state, “Bad form!”

The Adventureland sign is back, which is a welcome sight for visitors to the Magic Kingdom, especially with the large construction area currently visible around the Rivers of America.
