Kristin Davies was shocked to learn that ‘And Just Like That‘ wouldn’t be continuing after three seasons, saying the entire cast was completely unaware of the decision.
The show, a continuation of the popular Sex and the City series, premiered on Sky and HBO Max in 2021, bringing back Kristin Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Cynthia Nixon as their beloved characters.
Kim Cattrall, age 69, famously played Samantha Jones but didn’t reprise the role following a public disagreement with Sarah, age 60. However, she did make a brief appearance in the second series.
Fans were surprised last month to learn the show’s reboot had been canceled unexpectedly.
After the show’s last episode aired, Kristin, age 60, shared that the cast members were just as surprised by the news as the audience was.
Kristin recently shared with Drew Barrymore that the cast and crew really didn’t know if the show would be renewed for a fourth season when they finished filming the third season.

The actress explained that they had initially agreed to work together for three years, and she simply expected that arrangement to continue indefinitely.
‘That’s how I am.’
While the initial reaction to ‘And Just Like That’ was varied, Kristin Davis was deeply upset when showrunner Michael Patrick King announced in August that the series would be concluding.
The actress, known for playing Charlotte York since the original ‘Sex and the City’ debuted in 1998, shared on Instagram that she was deeply saddened.
I’m so grateful for our incredible cast and crew – 400 talented people poured their hearts into making this show. And to our amazing fans, we appreciate your unwavering support and love you endlessly.
The show concluded with a two-part finale at the end of its third season, and King believed it was the perfect time to end it.
In a post on HBO Max’s social media, he announced that the story of Sex and the City is concluding with the current season.
As I finished writing the final episode of And Just Like That…’s third season, I realized it felt like a good stopping point for the show.

We’ve decided to conclude the series this year with a two-part finale, and have increased the number of episodes from ten to twelve. This decision was made in collaboration with Sarah Jessica Parker, Casey Bloys, and Sarah Aubrey.
Sarah Jessica Parker and I waited to share this news so it wouldn’t take away from enjoying the current season. We’re incredibly thankful to all the fans who have welcomed these characters into their lives and hearts over the years.
Sarah Jessica Parker, best known for playing Carrie Bradshaw, expressed her sadness about finishing the role, which has been a central part of her career for almost thirty years.
For 27 years, playing Carrie Bradshaw has been the most important part of my career, and I think she’s the character I’ve loved playing the most.
I realize many others have felt the same deep connection with her, experiencing a full range of emotions – from frustration and disappointment to support and hope. Those shared feelings have been a powerful and defining part of my life.

‘Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and lifetime of debt.’
The Daily Mail reported that the problems with “And Just Like That” became too significant for the show’s creators to overlook, even though they tried to finish the series as planned.
An insider said: ‘HBO was happy to ride with the show for a few more years.’
Everyone felt Sarah Jessica Parker deserved to have her vision for the story fully realized, and they supported seeing it through to the end.
‘Decision makers felt like they owed it to Sarah and the rest of the cast and crew.’
