After receiving negative comments about her parenting, Megan McKenna posted sweet photos of her family – including her 11-month-old son, Landon, and husband, Oliver Burke – on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old former TOWIE star showed off her son during their recent Mallorca vacation, sharing photos of him looking cool in sunglasses – clearly the star of the show!
The family of three looked happy and relaxed in their Instagram photos, enjoying a swim together on vacation.
I’ve been enjoying a relaxing time in Mallorca with my family, capturing it all on film. I haven’t been feeling great lately, so I’m taking it easy and skipping the cooking. Here are a few holiday photos, and just look at how happy our little one is!
Commenting on the post her husband wrote: ‘King’ as Megan jokingly replied: ‘all hail King Landon’.
Megan shared a heartwarming post after defending herself against criticism for her son Landon not yet crawling. She had previously responded to hurtful comments about his development.
Earlier this month, a mother publicly criticized a contestant on Masterchef, Bernice Marie, for allegedly calling her a bad mother in a comment that has since been removed from Instagram.
Bernice commented that it’s shocking a baby is nearly one year old and still can’t crawl, adding laughing and shocked emojis.
Megan started her Instagram story by saying she usually ignores online trolls, but she felt compelled to respond to comments made by Bernice, who was eliminated early in the 2017 season. She was really bothered by what Bernice said and wanted to share her thoughts.
Honestly, it frustrated me to hear her say she shouldn’t have to explain anything, but it was clear to anyone watching that Landon was completely affected by what Bernice said. He was visibly moved, almost pleading, after she spoke. It was a really powerful moment, and you could just *see* how much it hit him.
In her video, Megan explained that she doesn’t typically flirt with or approach strangers, but feels these particular people need some information or understanding.
Someone commented on my page saying I’m a bad mom because my son, Landon, is almost one year old and still isn’t crawling.
Babies typically start crawling between seven and thirteen months, but some skip crawling altogether and go straight to walking. Landon is just about to start crawling now.
He’s trying to crawl, but he’s not quite getting the hang of using his knees yet. He’s only eleven months old, so it’s perfectly normal.
It’s really strange to me that another mom-who’s a flight attendant, has children, and has even been on television-is someone I’m planning to feature on my Instagram next.
‘I just think this mum-shaming needs to stop because it’s absolutely ridiculous.’
After Bernice posted a comment that was later removed, many fans quickly came to the star’s defense. One user shared, “My daughter turns two next week and hasn’t crawled or walked yet – she gets around by scooting on her bottom!”…
He’s absolutely adorable, and you’re doing a wonderful job as a mom! He’ll reach milestones like crawling, walking, and talking when he’s ready. You’re a beautiful mom to him, and honestly, he’s so busy eating and making everyone want a baby of their own that he probably just hasn’t had time to crawl yet!
It’s unbelievable that anyone who’s known you since Landon was born would think you’re a bad mother. Your love and dedication to him are so clear! Don’t pay attention to foolish comments online.
Many of Megan’s supporters also replied to Bernice, writing things like, ‘How could you say that? Landon is developing perfectly well and meeting his milestones.’
Children develop at their own pace, and it’s important not to stress about them reaching specific milestones by a certain age. Honestly, your comment makes me question how you approached parenting your own children.
