I was so excited when I heard about this new job – being a live-in maid for the Winchesters! They’re a really wealthy couple, and honestly, it sounded like the perfect opportunity.

But as the trailer shows, things aren’t quite as they seem.

The movie’s description promises a surprising story full of unexpected turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the credits roll.

The trailer shows Millie being greeted at the lavish home of a married couple, Nina and Andrew. However, Andrew doesn’t seem happy when he learns Millie will be living with them as a housekeeper.

Things quickly become unsettling when Nina gives Millie a lock for her door, and Millie discovers a fully stocked medicine cabinet.

Millie also expressed fear of losing her job, saying, “I can’t go back,” suggesting she’s hiding something from her past.

The trailer builds tension, showing police at the Winchester house, a creepy dollhouse, and a bloodied knife, inviting viewers to uncover the secrets within.

An unsettling rendition of Sabrina Carpenter’s popular song ‘Please Please Please’ adds to the trailer’s suspenseful atmosphere and plays throughout.

I’m so excited about *The Housemaid* movie! It’s based on the really popular book by Freida McFadden, and Paul Feig, who directed *A Simple Favor*, is the director – I loved that movie, so I have high hopes for this one!

Rebecca Sonnenshine wrote the screenplay adaptation of the novel. Paul Feig told *People* magazine that it stayed true to the original story, but also included several unexpected twists and turns.

The Housemaid arrives in UK cinemas on 26 December.
