Steven Knight, the creator of *Peaky Blinders*, has shared news about the next *James Bond* film, including whether he’s thought about who should play the famous spy.
Last month, Knight was confirmed to write the next James Bond movie, currently titled *James Bond 26*.
When asked about the new film by *Radio Times* magazine, Knight simply stated he couldn’t discuss it. He was then asked about broader details regarding the 26th installment in the series.

When asked if he’d be bringing his usual intensity to the new project, the writer responded, “It remains to be seen. You really don’t know how things will unfold until you begin writing.”
When asked about the next James Bond, Knight said he wasn’t sure who it would be and plans to write the script without focusing on any particular actor.

Questioned whether he was writing the script with no one in mind, Knight replied: “Er… yes.”
The writer told *The Sunday Times* that working on the new James Bond story was both exciting and thrilling. They then went on to discuss how they approach writing.
He admitted he hadn’t figured out the details of how the story would unfold. However, he knew the main character would go through a series of events, ultimately either meeting their end or rising to power. That was the extent of his plan.
When Knight was first announced as part of the James Bond films, he said he would deliver a Bond story that was more exciting, impactful, and daring for audiences.
He said he’s always wanted to do this, and he’s thrilled to receive the invitation. He’s eager to begin, sharing this on BBC Five Live Breakfast.

As a longtime Bond fan, I hope my passion for the series will shine through in my work, allowing me to create something that honors the original while also being fresh, improved, and more impactful.
While they haven’t chosen the next James Bond actor yet, progress is being made on the new film, and Denis Villeneuve is confirmed to direct.
The director of *Dune* shared that some of his first memories of going to the movies involve James Bond. He grew up watching the 007 films with his father, starting with *Dr. No* starring Sean Connery, and considers himself a dedicated fan. He described Bond as something truly special to him.
