Netflix released the first chilling trailer for its upcoming thriller, The Beast in Me, which promises a suspenseful game of cat and mouse.
I’m really excited about this new show! It’s from Howard Gordon, who did *Homeland*, and Claire Danes is going to be playing a writer named Aggie. Apparently, Aggie is dealing with the really tough loss of her son, so it sounds like it’s going to be a pretty emotional story.
Well-known author Aggie Wiggs (played by Danes) has been living a private life after the heartbreaking loss of her son. She’s lost her ability to write and is a shadow of who she used to be.
What to Read Next
However, she unexpectedly finds inspiration for her next book when a new neighbor, Nile Jarvis (Matthew Rhys), moves in. He’s a well-known and powerful real estate tycoon who was previously investigated as a possible suspect in his wife’s mysterious vanishing.
Aggie is both repelled and strangely drawn to this man, and she can’t stop trying to uncover his secrets. As she investigates his past, she’s also running from her own, leading to a dangerous and thrilling chase where the stakes are life and death.

A new teaser suggests the eight-episode series, coming to Netflix on November 13th, will be full of suspense and thrills.
The trailer showcases not only the actors playing Aggie and Nile, but also offers a first look at Brittany Snow as Nile’s wife, Nina, and David Lyons as FBI agent Brian Abbott.
The trailer also introduces Jonathan Banks, known for his role in *Breaking Bad*, as Martin Jarvis, Nile’s father, and Aleyse Shannon as Olivia Benitez, a city council member who doesn’t support Nile’s projects.

Watching the trailer, Aggie says something that really stuck with me. She’s talking about how we’re all kind of obsessed with scary things, with pushing our limits. It’s like we test ourselves with danger just to *feel* alive. But she warns that if we go too far, that little spark of recklessness could end up destroying everything – and we’d be caught right in the middle of it.
Gordon previously praised working with Danes, noting her exceptional ability to express a character’s inner thoughts and feelings. He highlighted both her strong intelligence and underlying vulnerability, explaining that she effectively communicates both aspects on screen.
All eight episodes of The Beast in Me will be released on Netflix on 13 November.
