Tensions are brewing on The Block over host Scott Cam’s jaw-dropping $2.4million salary.
Okay, so I’m hearing from people in the industry that there’s some tension behind the scenes on that renovation show. Apparently, everyone’s a little upset about Cam’s recent, very large salary reveal. It seems like his payday was significantly bigger than everyone else’s, and it’s causing some friction. It’s a classic case of money changing dynamics, you know?
According to a source, the current judges – Shaynna Blaze, Marty Fox, and Darren Palmer – earn significantly less than the show’s former host, who is 62 and previously worked as a tradesman.
According to a source, most people were unaware of how much money he was earning, and the revelation has caused a lot of disruption and upset.
It’s well known they face a lot of criticism online. While they definitely add prestige and fame to the show, their salaries are quite small compared to Scotty’s substantial earnings, according to sources.
Shaynna Blaze, a long-time judge on The Block at age 62, earns between $60,000 and $90,000 per season. She initially joined the show in 2012 and was paid a daily rate.

I’ve been watching ‘The Block’ since 2010, and Darren Palmer quickly became a favorite of mine. It was fantastic when he officially joined the judges in 2013 – he’s been a brilliant part of the show ever since!
He reportedly earns between $50,000 and $60,000 a season, according to an insider.
Okay, you guys, you are NOT going to believe this! I just heard from someone on set that Judge Marty Fox – seriously, he’s amazing, only 36! – was SO thrilled to be on The Block, he actually offered to do the show for *free*! Can you even imagine? He’s clearly a huge fan, just like me, and it’s the sweetest thing ever! I knew he was going to be great, but this just proves it!
After joining the show The Block in 2023, the property expert claimed his appearance was worth $250,000 in benefits to his company, Whitefox.
Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Nine for comment.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the buzz around Cam’s recent salary reveal. Let me tell you, the numbers are pretty staggering! It’s now clear he’s among the top earners when it comes to presenters in Australia, which has definitely sparked a lot of conversation.
In August, a source told Woman’s Day that Channel Nine really wanted to keep both Cam and his co-star, Shelley Craft, on the show as long as possible.
‘As long as audiences keep watching, Scotty and Shelley are the heart of the show,’ they said.

‘It’s ultimately up to the network, but if Scott wants to stay, they will find a way to keep him.’
The insider added that Cam’s good-natured attitude made him a delight to work with.
He’s incredibly grateful to continue doing what he loves and be involved with a show that people still enjoy watching. He feels very thankful for the opportunity.
Cam has co-hosted The Block since 2010.
The latest season of the popular reality TV show has just begun, and it’s already shaping up to be a particularly exciting one, filmed in the Daylesford area.
