Breaking Bad star Anna Gunn stuns with youthful appearance nearly 12 years after finale

Anna Gunn, known for playing Skyler White on Breaking Bad, returned to the character in a recent commercial that was shown during the 2025 Emmy Awards on Sunday.

Anna Gunn, 57, reprised her role as Skyler White, Walter White’s wife, in a new commercial for the drink company Popwell. This marks nearly 12 years since the popular TV show ‘Breaking Bad’ ended.

More than ten years after the show ended, she surprised fans by revisiting the iconic kitchen from the New Mexico house where her character shared a home with Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston.

As a lifestyle expert, I always notice product placement, and it was fun seeing Anna Gunn, reprising her famous role, casually reach for a can of Popwell’s prebiotic soda in that quick 46-second ad. It felt very natural, like something you’d actually see happen!

She then brought up her TV husband’s double life, referencing how he used his chemistry knowledge to become a drug lord named Heisenberg.

The advertisement appears as Bryan Cranston, her former colleague, is celebrating his daughter’s success in a leading role on ‘The Pitt,’ a popular medical drama now nominated for 13 Emmy Awards.

In the commercial, Gunn’s character warned that cooking can have negative consequences, playfully echoing a famous line from the TV show Breaking Bad.

‘So break from those other sodas, and their cooks. Say their name… Popwell!’

I was absolutely thrilled, like so many others, when I saw them pop up on screen during the awards show! Social media exploded with excitement – everyone was just gushing over the surprise appearance, and honestly, I totally get why. It was such a fantastic moment!

People who have been watching Breaking Bad since it originally aired from 2008 to 2013 were impressed by how great she looked.

Others lamented about how much they missed seeing her on TV.

Tonight, the 77th Emmy Awards celebrate the top television shows and performers. The ceremony is taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and many famous faces are expected to attend.

The 74th Emmy Awards will air live on CBS on Sunday, September 14th, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern and 5 p.m. Pacific time.
