Australian Football League Women’s (AFLW) player Nicola Stevens and her fiancé Elise Rose have become parents, welcoming a baby boy.
The 32-year-old athlete shared the wonderful news of her baby’s arrival on social media Saturday, along with a lovely photo of the newborn.
Nicola, who is currently playing as a defender for St. Kilda, also revealed her son’s name.
Nicola and her partner announced the arrival of their baby boy, Otis Benjamin, on Instagram.
‘Your Mummies love you so much little darling,’ the pair added.
In the photo, Otis can be seen catching a snooze while dressed in a beanie and striped jumpsuit.

The baby came with a small wooden tag displaying his name and birth information. It showed that Otis Benjamin was born on September 10th, weighing 9 pounds 2 ounces (4.1 kg) and measuring 51 centimeters.
People immediately shared congratulatory messages after the couple announced they were engaged in January.
One friend excitedly shared, “I’m so happy for both of you!” and added, “Welcome to the world, 9-pound Elise Rose – you’re amazing!”
Nicola replied: ‘She is INCREDIBLE.’
Fellow AFLW footy player Steph Chiocci also messaged: ‘Otis ya big cutie.’
Paige Trudgeon, a player from St. Kilda, also sent a congratulatory message, saying, ‘He’s perfect, congratulations to you both, lovely mums! Otis has so many aunties who will love him.’
I was really touched when Nicola recently shared her story. She lost her mom, Ann, way too soon to early-onset dementia last year – she was only 52. It’s just heartbreaking, and I admire her for being so open about it.
Nicola, who began her professional football career with Collingwood in 2017, recently shared with Code Sports that she was motivated by her mother’s 13-year fight with illness.

For years, I’ve always admired how she could just step onto the field and truly be herself, leaving any personal struggles behind. It was like she could separate her life on and off the field, and just *play*. It was amazing to watch.
After my mother died, it took me about a year and a half to rediscover my sense of purpose.
Nicola was included in the inaugural AFLW draft pick.
She joined St. Kilda in 2022 after playing for Carlton since 2018.
