Ame is still in contention after Xtreme won against PARI, but another player is patiently awaiting his opportunity, and deserves recognition.
Xtreme Gaming defeated PARIVISION, earning their spot in the Grand Final of The International 2025. But for me, this is more than just a game result. I’ve followed Volodymyr “No[o]ne-” Minenko’s career since 2016, when he was considered the most promising young player of his generation – a true prodigy. And he absolutely lived up to the hype.
He first made a huge impact in the competitive Dota 2 scene in 2017 with Virtus.Pro, exceeding expectations and reaching the top 6 at The International. While many predicted success, he faced tough opponents like OG, Evil Geniuses, and Team Liquid. He continued to perform well in 2018, winning four major tournaments, but again finished 5th-6th at The International. After that, his career didn’t quite reach the same heights – until he joined PARIVISION.
As a Dota 2 fan, this hug really meant a lot to me. No[o]ne has always played so exceptionally, but hasn’t yet reached his goals. It seemed like he saw a reflection of himself in Alan ‘Satanic’ Gallyamov – a young, incredibly talented player who hasn’t quite had his breakthrough moment. This was Satanic’s first TI, and a defeat like that can be devastating. But the way they hugged showed they’re a team determined to keep fighting and try again.
How did Xtreme Gaming beat PARIVISION to reach TI 2025’s Grand Final
Game 1: The worst Phantom Lance game
Everyone immediately recognized a drafting error by Xtreme in the first game. They chose Shadow Fiend early on, which No[o]ne immediately countered with Invoker. Despite knowing Enigma and Elder Titan’s powerful area damage and control, the Chinese team still selected Phantom Lancer for Ame. Edgar “9Class” Naltakian, known for playing core heroes as a soft support, then used Void Spirit to help PARIVISION defeat Xtreme and advance towards the Grand Final of The International 2025.
The game lasted more than forty minutes, but it was a stomp since the 20th-minute mark.
Game 2: How to play an immortal Sniper
Xtreme Gaming doesn’t allow for many mistakes, and Parivision made a critical one in their biggest game at The International 2025: they didn’t ban the hero Sniper. They hoped to counter Sniper by picking Storm Spirit, but that plan backfired. The game was surprisingly low-scoring with only twenty kills combined, but Xtreme Gaming’s strategy was perfect.
- Sniper took the back-line with Hurricane Pike and Linken’s Sphere, two defensive items.
- XinQ bought Aghanim’s Shard as fast as possible. Then, he stood close to Sniper the whole game.
- If a Snapfire Cookie was not enough to save Xm’s Sniper, Centaur’s Stampede was the last resort.
This wasn’t a strategic draft designed to quickly eliminate opponents. PARIVISION couldn’t capitalize on Xtreme Gaming’s early positioning, and quickly fell behind. Ultimately, Xtreme Gaming’s strong early-game focus proved too much for PARIVISION to overcome.

Game 3: Xtreme Gaming stopped PARIVISION’s dream to win TI 2025
The second game had few kills, but the third was even slower. After 25 minutes, both teams had only two kills each. While it might seem dull, the game was actually very strategic. Every small error could give the opposing team a big advantage. This happened when Satanic was killed at the 28-minute mark, which quickly led to the deaths of his teammates, Chen and Bestmaster.
PARIVISION lost a crucial team fight against Xtreme Gaming, effectively ending their chances of reaching the Grand Finals at The International 2025. The fight resulted in a costly buyback for Satanic, leading directly into a battle over Roshan. After a grueling 63 minutes, Ame’s incredibly durable Medusa finally secured the victory.
