Brad Pitt beams as cameras roll on Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood sequel in LA

Brad Pitt showed off his famous smile while filming a follow-up to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood in Los Angeles on Sunday morning.

Brad Pitt, 61, is returning as Cliff Booth, the stuntman he famously played and won an Oscar for, in a new movie. This time, David Fincher will direct instead of Quentin Tarantino, who directed the original 2019 film.

The star, originally from Shawnee, Oklahoma, appeared stylish on set Sunday morning, wearing a vintage off-white button-up shirt, faded blue jeans, and brown shoes.

I just have to say, seeing Brad Pitt on set for the sequel was amazing! He had this cool, messy blonde hairstyle swept to the side, and he was rocking some sunglasses. He was casually walking near a classic car – it all looked so effortlessly cool, honestly.

Photographers reported that Brad Pitt, known for his roles in movies like Fight Club, Se7en, and Moneyball, appeared cheerful when a production assistant handed him a Starbucks coffee.

In 2020, Brad Pitt won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

As a huge fan, I was thrilled when Brad Pitt finally won! It’s amazing considering who he was up against – true legends like Tom Hanks from ‘A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood,’ Anthony Hopkins in ‘The Two Popes,’ and even the incredible duo of Joe Pesci and Al Pacino from ‘The Irishman.’ What a lineup!

Quentin Tarantino received the award for Best Original Screenplay for his film, a nostalgic story taking place in 1969.

The main character begins as a soldier who returns home to work as a movie stuntman, eventually becoming a general assistant, or ‘gofer,’ for Rick Dalton, a struggling actor portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio.

According to IMDb, Timothy Olyphant will return as James Stacy in the upcoming sequel to Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.

The film’s cast also includes Holt McCallany, Corey Fogelmanis, Carla Gugino, Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Barry Livingston, JB Tadena, J.E. Burton, and Henry Foster Brown.

In May 2023, Quentin Tarantino discussed the project with Deadline while at the Cannes Film Festival, where he presented a screening of his 1977 film, *Rolling Thunder*.

At the event, Tarantino revealed the film will take place in 1977. He described the main character as a real person who wasn’t well-known, and who previously wrote movie reviews for a pornographic magazine.

Tarantino explained that the idea for the character came from his teenage job refilling vending machines with adult magazines and collecting the coins people left behind.

Tarantino mentioned that he’d dismissed a lot of trashy magazines, but then he came across a scandalous publication with a surprisingly insightful section about movies.

Tarantino mentioned he enjoyed reading the work of one critic, describing them as witty and insightful, even though they weren’t the main reviewer.

Tarantino described the critic as someone who primarily covered popular films and wasn’t the publication’s top reviewer. However, he believed the critic was very skilled, noting his particularly harsh and skeptical perspective.

Okay, so his reviews? Forget everything you think you know about film criticism. It was like listening to Howard Stern back in the day, totally unfiltered and hilarious, but with this *edge*. Seriously, it was dark. He’d tear films apart, but in a way that made you think…it reminded me of Travis Bickle from *Taxi Driver*, you know? Like, if Travis had decided to become a critic instead of…well, you know. It was intense, brilliant, and honestly, I couldn’t get enough.
