News of Ricky Hatton’s death has stunned the worlds of sports and entertainment. The former boxing champion was found dead at his Manchester home on Sunday.
After retiring from professional sports, the athlete transitioned into coaching, and surprisingly, also appeared on the reality show Dancing On Ice in 2024.
Friends became worried about Ricky on Saturday when he didn’t show up to an event for one of his boxers. Police have now cordoned off his home, where he was discovered.
Ricky was a champion boxer from 1997 to 2012, winning several world and UK titles. He has three children: a son, Campbell, who left boxing at 24 and now installs solar panels, and two daughters, Millie and Fearne.
Ricky often made headlines due to his personal life, including reports of infidelity with an Irish boxer while he was battling drug addiction and engaged to Jennifer Dooley.
Ricky has had several relationships, including one with Playboy model Chelsea Claire, despite their age difference, and he recently dated his colleague Claire Sweeney from ITV.
Claire Sweeney
Ricky and Claire, a star on Coronation Street, began dating after meeting as contestants on Dancing On Ice in January 2024.
Claire shared that she and Ricky had been friends for 25 years before they started dating. Ricky added that it was good timing, as they were both free after ending previous relationships and were able to connect.
She had been dating after splitting from her ex-husband, Daniel Reilly, the father of her son Jaxon, back in 2017.
The couple ended their eight-month relationship in December 2024, despite having recently shared a vacation together in Tenerife.
According to a source, Claire and Ricky have ended their romantic relationship but remain friends. There’s no animosity between them – they simply realized they’re better suited as friends than as a couple.
They have a lot in common and enjoy each other’s company, but they live very different lives.

Although their relationship initially seemed promising, demanding work schedules created tension, and they eventually broke up as Ricky focused intensely on his ice skating training.
According to a source, Ricky and Chelsea enjoyed each other’s company, but their relationship was brief and casual.
They’re in very different places in their lives right now, and Ricky is fully focused on his training. Despite this, they’re parting ways on good terms and plan to remain friends.

Ricky went public with his then girlfriend Angela Blemmings in July 2022.
He surprised the owner of EyeCandy beauty salon in Stalybridge with a romantic trip to Dublin.

The couple enjoyed a romantic getaway and stayed at the luxurious Caesar’s Palace hotel, where they took many affectionate photos together.
The sportsman commented: ‘Nice to go to Vegas for a night and not get knocked the f*** out.’
He playfully nicknamed Charlie the ‘fun police’ because she’d been trying to guide Ricky towards healthier choices ever since he retired in 2012.
Despite being together for two years, the couple broke up because they wanted different things in life. According to The Sun, Charlie was planning to move to Dubai in 2020.

Jennifer Dooley
Ricky briefly dated a woman named Claire in his early twenties, and they had a son together, Campbell Hatton, who was born on January 9, 2001. Campbell is a boxer.
Ricky had his longest relationship with Jennifer Dooley, from 2005 to 2016.
Jennifer witnessed many of his greatest achievements, including his multiple world title wins and the presentation of his MBE in the 2007 New Year Honours.
