Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden were seen out together for the first time in over a year, delighting their fans with the unexpected public appearance.

After taking some time away from public events, the couple seemed eager to have a fun night out, attending Michael Rubin’s REFORM Alliance Casino Night in New Jersey on Saturday.

The couple, last seen together publicly in August 2024, looked cozy and close while having their pictures taken at the event.

Cameron Diaz, 53, seemed to bring some of her rom-com energy to the 2008 film *What Happens In Vegas*, where she tried her hand at poker. She then took a selfie with her friend, Jamie Foxx.

Cameron Diaz returned to acting earlier this year after a nine-year break, and her first role was alongside Jamie Foxx in the Netflix film, Back In Action. She had retired from acting in 2014.

Cameron and Benji, both 46, were seen together publicly for the first time in over a year on Thursday. They were out with their 17-month-old son, Cardinal Madden.

Cameron and Benji — who wed in 2015 — are also parents to daughter Raddix, five. 

In a spring 2024 Instagram post, Madden announced that their family had grown from three to four with the birth of their second child.

Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden and his wife shared the wonderful news of their son’s birth, announcing his name is Cardinal Madden.

He shared his excitement, saying, ‘He’s fantastic, and everyone is thrilled to have him with us! To protect the children’s privacy and safety, we won’t be sharing any photos, but he’s adorable.’

The message went on to say how incredibly thankful and happy they were, sending lots of love from their family to ours. They wished us well and sent afternoon greetings! ❤️⚡️

In March, Cameron Diaz’s husband, Benji Madden, shared that he’s somewhat intimidated by her, offering a rare glimpse into their private marriage.

Good Charlotte singer Joel Madden appeared on Rob Lowe’s SiriusXM podcast, Literally!, with his twin brother, Joel.

Benji Madden and Joel Madden, married to Nicole Richie, both confessed they jokingly feel intimidated by their wives, whom they describe as strong women.

Benji added that they fear their partners ‘in the best way.’

Benji playfully warned anyone who might challenge Cameron and Nicole, calling them ‘queens.’ He confidently stated that opposing them wouldn’t go well and that he wouldn’t even have to intervene.

Meanwhile, the release of Shrek 5 has been delayed until summer 2027.

As a huge fan of the DreamWorks series, I was a little disappointed to hear that the next movie has been delayed. It was originally planned for December 2026, but now it’s scheduled to come out on June 30, 2027. It’s a wait, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it if they need the extra time to make it amazing!

The film doesn’t have to launch during the busy holiday season alongside major releases like Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part III.

Universal has moved an upcoming Illumination film to April 16, 2027, a date previously reserved for a fifth *Shrek* movie.

The latest Shrek movie marks the first installment in the main series since 2010’s *Shrek Forever After*. It introduces Zendaya as Felicia, Shrek’s daughter, and welcomes back familiar voices like Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, and Cameron Diaz as Fiona.
