Tom Hardy and Joanne Froggatt’s returning crime drama MobLand has received an exciting update.
Under the guidance of director Guy Ritchie, the Paramount+ series unfolds the story of the Harrigans, a criminal dynasty based in London, as they engage in conflicts with rival mobs.
After achieving tremendous success during its initial run, the groundbreaking series was granted a continuation for a second season. In fact, this decision was confirmed by Chris McCarthy from Paramount as early as June.

Froggatt, the actress who portrays Jan Da Souza, recently announced that filming for the second season will start next month, as she is married to Harry Da Souza on screen, played by Hardy.
According to Froggatt, in an interview with MovieWeb, she mentioned that they will begin filming Season 2 around late October. In other words, it’s just a few weeks away! She is incredibly excited to return to set and start filming season two of “MobLand”.

I absolutely adored that production! The script was fantastic, the character was captivating, and the ensemble was truly exceptional. To be honest, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to portray Jan. For quite some time, I’ve aspired to play a gangster’s wife or even a gangster, and finally, my dream has come true.
Highly praised by critics, the initial season boasts an impressive rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 45 reviews. Notably, this season was characterized as both “epic” and “grim.
In the heart of ‘MobLand’, as penned by The Guardian, lies the concept that manipulating, intimidating or persuading characters portrayed by Tom Hardy is a unique form of art. Here, Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a top-tier fixer in this compelling new gangster saga.

The Standard review states that the series resembles Guy Ritchie’s usual style, with some stars providing hilarious moments. However, despite a couple of enjoyable performances and an appropriate Fontaines DC theme song, it doesn’t offer anything particularly fresh or innovative.
The article from Collider states that “MobLand” isn’t a revolutionary take on the gangster genre, but it certainly delivers numerous surprises and keeps viewers hooked with its compelling ensemble cast, leaving them excited for each upcoming episode.
MobLand season 1 is streaming now on Paramount+.
