The long-overlooked movie titled “The Actors“, featuring the talented Ben Miller known from “Death in Paradise“, can currently be streamed at no cost within the United Kingdom.
In the first person perspective:
I found myself drawn into an enthralling Irish crime tale, aptly dubbed a “caper” by RTÉ. This film follows my journey as Tom Quirk, a struggling actor, who unintentionally gets tangled up in a shady business venture with my disreputable co-star, the once-prominent Anthony O’Malley.
In this situation, when Anthony finds himself threatened with losing his home, he devises a cunning scheme and recruits Tom to pretend as if he’s a menacing loan shark. The goal is to swindle some cash from the former criminal, Barreller.

Assisted by Tom’s nine-year-old niece, Mary, the pair somehow acquire the money. However, will they be able to keep their scheme intact as things begin to unravel? (Paraphrased)
The movie titled “The Actors” premiered way back in 2003, but it made a comeback on Film4 last night (11th of September). Now, you can catch it on Channel 4’s free streaming service for the next 29 days, until the 11th of October.

As a fervent admirer, I’d like to highlight that “The Actors” is a masterpiece written and directed by the extraordinarily talented Conor McPherson. In this captivating production, the iconic Michael Caine graces our screens as Anthony, while Dylan Moran, renowned for his role in “Shaun of the Dead,” brilliantly portrays Tom.
Additionally, Abigail Iversen (playing Mary), the late Sir Michael Gambon (in the character of Barreller), Michael McElhatton from ‘Game of Thrones’, and Lena Headey are also part of the cast. Miller, known for his role in ‘Death in Paradise’ for three years, plays a minor character named Clive in this production.
Elsewhere on Channel 4, Maggie Smith’s A Room With a View is also available to stream for free.

According to the 1985 period drama, inspired by EM Forster’s novel, Helena Bonham Carter portrays Lucy Honeychurch, a young lady embarking on an Italian tour accompanied by her elder cousin, Charlotte Bartlett, played by Smith.
In the enchanting city of Florence, Lucy experiences a fleeting romance with a resident named George, portrayed by Julian Sands. However, upon her return to England, Lucy finds herself grappling with the choice between staying with her Italian beau George or opting for a future with her affluent British admirer Cecil, played by Daniel Day-Lewis.
The Actors and A Room With a View are streaming now on Channel 4.
