Tanya Bardsley shared with her followers on Instagram that she underwent a hysterectomy, having endured prolonged discomfort for several years prior.
The star from “The Real Housewives of Cheshire,” aged 44, mentioned that due to the intensity of the discomfort, she regrettably had to forgo attending the National Television Awards.
Tanya exchanged her fancy dress for a hospital gown when she had surgery after being diagnosed with adenomyosis.
In adenomyosis, the inner lining of the uterus extends into its outer muscular layer, leading to discomfort and other associated symptoms. However, there are various treatment options available to alleviate these issues.
To prevent the pain, Tanya got a hysterectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the womb.
Instead of dressing up a fancy dress for the NTAS tonight, she’s donning a hospital gown for a hysterectomy instead. The pain is just too much for her to bear ❤️.

I am incredibly thankful to my expanded womb, a testament to the miraculous pregnancies it has hosted, for bestowing upon me the most precious children I could have imagined. Now, it’s time for this special space to transition and move on with love. 💙
For decades, I’ve been struggling with my health issues, yet doctors provided no solutions and suggested that it’s just a normal part of life. However, it was only when I tirelessly pushed for answers that I encountered the remarkable Dr. AmiraYGynae, who diagnosed me with adenomyosis and fibroids using her exceptional expertise.
I wasn’t familiar with adenomyosis until now, so I thought I’d share some information. It can be challenging for even well-trained eyes to detect in scans. If you are experiencing pain and your doctor tells you that there is nothing wrong, don’t hesitate to keep pressing them for further examination.
Tanya additionally posted a video where she wrote while on morphine, saying: “I’ve had one operation and now I am a doctor… I diagnosed my sister… If you send me your symptoms, I’ll tell you what you have❤️ @sherrierobo @dramirygynae” (paraphrased version)
In this paraphrase, the sentence has been simplified and restructured for easy reading while maintaining the original meaning. The key points are that Tanya posted a video while on morphine, she is now a doctor who diagnosed her sister, and she offered to diagnose others if they send their symptoms to her.
‘Thank you for all of your lovely messages❤️’
In June, Tanya shared details about her challenging health struggle that she found more difficult than giving birth, on the talk show Loose Women.
In her chat with panelists Ruth Langsford, Sue Cleaver, Denise Welch, and Brenda Edwards, she opened up about her battles with adenomyosis.
Tanya admitted, “I had been dealing with ADHD, finally managing it well, when suddenly menopause approached, making my periods increasingly challenging. I couldn’t help but wonder if this was simply menopause causing such discomfort.

She recalled: ‘It was like I was in labour, I was panting in pain.’
Eventually, I was diagnosed with a troublesome health issue that felt more agonizing than childbirth, yet it persisted indefatigably.
Or,
It took some time to get a definitive diagnosis, but once I had it, I realized I was dealing with something as uncomfortable as labor, only this discomfort refused to subside.
In the past, I openly admitted that I harbored fears that my husband Phil might depart from me, given the profound impact my challenging health situation seemed to have on our bond.
During an open conversation, Tanya revealed that the condition she’s experiencing causes her persistent pain and has led to a serious hormonal ordeal.
In an honest interview, Tanya disclosed that the condition she’s enduring keeps her in constant pain and has triggered a severe hormonal crisis at night.
Both paraphrases maintain the original meaning while using more natural and easy-to-read language.
Consequently, her long-lasting relationship with the ex-Sunderland footballer has suffered greatly, as Tanya openly acknowledged times when she found it unbearable to be near him.
In an interview with The Sun, she commended Phil for his loyalty, saying, “This demonstrates the caliber of man he is. There are times when I barely feel like being around myself, but he remains by my side.
In simpler terms, she described her condition as feeling like an unwelcome force has seized control of her body, leaving her unable to regulate her actions. She compared herself to a clumsy giant lumbering about.
Suddenly, I feel an intense anger welling up within me, almost overwhelming my normal self. When this happens, I can become quite difficult to be around. It seems that my hormone levels might be off-balance, as the angry side of me tends to emerge more strongly.
As a devoted follower, I found myself echoing Tanya’s sentiments – transitioning swiftly from an overwhelming fear of losing my beloved partner and treasured family, only to find myself engulfed in a whirlwind of anger that seemed to render me indifferent towards everything and everyone around me. It’s a desolate place to dwell, indeed.
