Approximately a year ago, actresses Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried made public their collaboration on an upcoming thriller titled “The Housemaid.
As a die-hard fan, I’m beyond ecstatic to share that my favorite 27-year-old Euphoria star and the captivating 39-year-old actress from Long Bright River are gracing our screens together in brand new first-look images for an upcoming movie! Mark your calendars, folks, because this cinematic masterpiece is hitting theaters on December 19th. I simply can’t wait!
As an unabashed enthusiast, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Lionsgate collaborated with People magazine to unveil captivating shots of the extraordinary Sydney, embodying the vibrant character Millie! Millie is a live-in maid, striving to forge a new beginning and bid adieu to her past baggage. These images are a tantalizing glimpse into an upcoming journey that I, for one, can hardly wait to embark on!
She works under the apparently refined persona, Nina Winchester, who is wedded to Andrew Winchester, played by Brandon Sklenar.
In other words, as things start to unravel for the Winchesters, Millie finds herself in a precarious situation.
A logline describes the movie as a ‘seductive game of secrets, scandal and power.’

In simpler terms, Paul Feig, the director, mentioned that the on-screen connection between co-stars Sydney and Amanda was exceptionally strong.
He remarked that they possess such extraordinary skills, working harmoniously together, creating an immediate immersion into their screen universe.
The filmmaker, who is 62 years old, expressed excitement when he spoke about watching how the dynamic between Millie and Nina evolves throughout the movie.
The movie is based on the Freida McFadden novel of the same name, published in 2022.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my delight in how the movie encapsulates all that made the book so captivating for me – the hidden mysteries, the palpable suspense, and the unexpected turns of events.
‘We can’t wait for audiences to immerse themselves in the experience.’
Sydney enthusiastically shared, “I’m eager for the audience to witness the dedication we put into making The Housemaid a reality.
She portrayed Millie as her perfect character – ‘a combination of complexity, strength, and a hint of mystery.’

Paul observed that Millie was someone we instantly take an interest in because, to her, the surroundings seemed like a completely unfamiliar realm of affluence and elevated standards.
Meanwhile, he pained Nina as ‘a portrait of unpredictability and extremes.’
He remarked that both actresses are open to any experience, and we truly enjoyed the adventure of following their characters as the story’s unexpected plots and loops unfolded.
“Both of them seamlessly stepped into their difficult roles, fully embracing them as if they were their own. It was truly an enjoyable experience working with them on this film,” he commented.
Italian actor Michele Morrone also appears in the feature as Enzo, the estate’s groundkeeper.
Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine adapted the novel for the big screen.
Via social media last October, Amanda hinted about the upcoming release of “The Housemaid” directed by Freida McFadden on the big screen. Keep an eye out for more updates!
