Tom Hiddleston’s “exquisite” period drama with all-star British cast is leaving UK streamer very soon

An Oscar-nominated film with a big British cast is leaving streaming service BBC iPlayer very soon.

2011’s “War Horse,” directed by Steven Spielberg, is now available for streaming following its recent broadcast on BBC One.

The video will only be accessible until Monday, September 15th at 4:30 PM. Currently, it isn’t part of any subscription service without an additional fee being required.

The movie tells the story of a hunter horse from Ireland, developing a connection with a young boy, only to find himself drafted into military service during World War I – marking Steven Spielberg’s first foray into portraying this war, following numerous films centering on World War II.

This production features Emily Watson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston, David Thewlis, Toby Kebbell, Liam Cunningham, Eddie Marsan, and Jeremy Irvine among its stellar lineup.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, the movie has garnered 241 critic reviews, with an impressive 74% approval rating. While this is one of the lower ratings for the director, it’s important to note that it remains a strong showing.

The Empire magazine described “War Horse” as extraordinary family filmmaking, reminiscent of the grandest tradition in Hollywood. On the other hand, The Hollywood Reporter stated that it evoked memories of how Hollywood once made films suitable for everyone.

On the other hand, The San Francisco Chronicle described the movie as being both “messy” and “inspired.

As a hardcore gamer, I’m pumped to spill the beans about an exciting update! Legendary filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus, who teamed up for the smashing hit adaptation of “The Thursday Murder Club,” are joining forces once more. This time, they’re working on a sequel to the classic ’80s adventure flick, “The Goonies,” marking 40 years since its initial release. Bring on the nostalgia!

War Horse is available to stream on BBC iPlayer until next Monday.
