In this new update, Version 3.5, for Honkai: Star Rail, the highly anticipated 5-star character, Cerydra, makes her debut. She is a character aligned with the Wind element and follows the Path of Harmony. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the optimal utilization of Cerydra’s abilities by providing a thorough analysis of her skills and suggesting the most effective configurations to enhance her performance in Honkai: Star Rail.
Cerydra Gameplay
In simpler terms, the character named Cerydra serves as a Wind Harmony unit primarily designed to aid hypercarries. She does this by enhancing their attack power with a special Military Merit bonus. This Military Merit boost significantly increases the attack power of one chosen ally, derived from Cerydra’s own statistics. Furthermore, whenever that selected ally launches an attack, Cerydra also inflicts extra damage.
Gradually, she accumulates Charging Stations, and when enough have been collected, Military Merit evolves into Nobility, which boosts the ally with Critical Damage, Resistance Penetration, and the capacity to initiate Main Strike. This unique effect duplicates the ally’s skill, enabling them to use it consecutively, creating massive burst opportunities when paired with suitable characters. Although it is situational, this mechanism enables her to amplify the damage potential of units that heavily depend on their skills.

Her equipment boosts uniformity by employing robust passive abilities. She significantly scales Critical Damage based on her Attack, accompanied by a free Critical Rate bonus, which means she primarily focuses on enhancing her Attack to gain the benefits for both herself and her teammates. Moreover, she offers additional Speed to herself and her selected ally, enabling them to act more swiftly without requiring Speed equipment.
Via her remarkable abilities, she swiftly accrues Charge points and strategically enforces Peerage at opportune moments. Moreover, her technique guarantees the buff is active from the beginning of combat without draining resources. In essence, Cerydra serves as a highly specialized support character, truly excelling when paired with the right attackers. Her unique utility has the potential to transform an ally’s skills into formidable double attacks.

Honkai Star Rail Cerydra Best Relics and Planar Ornaments
In this part of the Honkai: Star Rail Cerydra Character Guide, we’ll explore which relics, key attributes, and planar adornments are crucial to prioritize for Cerydra.

In simpler terms, for this character’s stats, aim for approximately 140 Speed, over 4000 Attack during combat, and then boost Health (HP) and Defense as additional attributes. Since she naturally gets a large amount of Critical Damage from her passive abilities, there’s no need to focus on increasing it further, making her build more straightforward.
- Body: ATK
- Feet: SPD
- Planar Spear: ATK
- Link Rope: ERR
Relic Set
| Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal | The Sacerdos set works best in Phainon teams, since Phainon can snapshot the buffs, making the setup extremely valuable. Outside of those comps, Sacerdos loses some efficiency because you don’t want to constantly spam Cerydra’s skill, though even a few stacks here and there can still help. |
| Eagle of Twilight Line | The Eagle set is another option, offering her more actions for better energy gain and an extra ultimate across longer fights, which can lead to an extra Coup de Main, but it’s not essential since she doesn’t ult often. |
Planar Ornaments
| Lushaka, the Sunken Seas/Penacony, Land of the Dreams | For planars, the best are Lushaka or Penacony with Anaxa, both of which buff the main carry’s damage while giving Cerydra energy regen. |
Honkai Star Rail Cerydra Best Light Cone

| Epoch Etched in Golden Blood (Cerydra’s 5* Light Cone) | For light cones, Cerydra’s best-in-slot is her signature, Epoch Etched in Golden Blood. It has a very high base ATK, which directly boosts the Military Merit buff, plus a huge 64% ATK increase baked into the passive. On top of that, it restores 1 SP when she uses her ultimate offensively, and if she uses her skill on a single target, it grants a 54% Skill DMG buff to an ally. This cone fits her niche perfectly since it patches up her buff uptime and provides extra team utility. However, because it’s so specialized and only really benefits her, most players don’t need to pull it unless they are heavily investing into her. |
| The Forever Victual (4*) | Her new free-to-play light cone offers a flat 32% ATK boost, with up to an additional 48% ATK stacking through skill use, capping at 80% ATK total. This makes it a fantastic stat stick that keeps her scaling high while remaining easily accessible. |
| Flowing Nightglow (5*) | Another solid option is Flowing Nightglow, Robin’s cone, which Cerydra can “borrow” if it’s not being used. It gives plenty of ATK, team buffs, and some energy regeneration, making it a well-rounded and practical choice. |
Best Team Comps for Cerydra in Honkai Star Rail
Cerydra’s team dynamics are quite specialized yet incredibly potent when effectively applied. Her abilities are optimized for high attack (ATK) and critical hit (CRIT) heavy champions who heavily leverage their skills. This makes her an ideal fit with Phainon and Anaxa. While she can work with an Archer in certain scenarios, she’s not a versatile all-purpose buffer for every team composition.
Phainon Team
Using Phainon in combination feels incredibly well-suited. Cerydra not just triggers Phainon’s ‘Coreflame skill burst’, but she doubles his ‘4 Scourge skill’ with ‘Coup de Main duplication’. This makes his primary source of damage, the ‘4 Scourge skill’, extraordinarily powerful. The boost from Cerydra’s enhancements significantly raises Phainon’s potential damage output, placing him at a significantly higher damage threshold.

Instead of her SPD buff, Phainon’s boost allows him to wear ATK boots while still outpacing advancement units, thus streamlining rotations. However, since Phainon already has numerous impressive buffers, Cerydra appears less essential, particularly for an E2 Phainon. Nevertheless, she remains a valuable addition for those running E0 Phainon, as her amplification becomes more pronounced in that case.
Anaxa Team
As a passionate player, I can’t help but rave about Anaxa! In combat, Anaxa’s abilities already amplify his attack power against enemies through Qualitative Disclosure. But when Cerydra joins the fray with Coup de Main, she sets off a chain reaction that doubles Anaxa’s skills yet again. This dynamic duo creates an impressive damage multiplier sequence, featuring toughness reduction, energy boost, and the potential for Pure Fiction. It’s nothing short of awe-inspiring!

In simpler terms, Cerydra becomes fully charged more frequently due to consistently employing techniques with allies such as Bronya and Sunday. However, managing Special Points (SP) is a challenge since her Speed Point boost depletes rapidly when paired with an advancer. To maintain maximum usage, SP management can be demanding. Nevertheless, she proves to be a fantastic teammate, particularly if Robin isn’t available or if you aim to boost Anaxa’s team damage significantly.
Archer Team
Eventually, it’s clear that Archer forms a specialized harmony within the team dynamics. By frequently employing his ability to spawn Charge points, he significantly accelerates this process for Cerydra. The manner in which their abilities mesh together enables Cerydra to gain more SP than she expends in Archer’s team. Essentially, each turn taken by Archer results in additional Special Points when combined with Cerydra’s kit.
Although the SP engine is impressive, it’s important to note that her buffs outside of her burst phase are relatively less potent compared to a specialized amplifier such as Cipher. This is because Cipher offers consistent damage increases with every shot, whereas the SP engine provides more of an experimental choice for Archer, making her less of an optimal pick compared to other top-tier partners in this role.
Is Cerydra worth pulling in HSR
Cerydra is a specialized yet potent character whose effectiveness greatly relies on having her key collaborators. Her one-of-a-kind ability duplication mechanism allows heavy hitters like Phainon and Anaxa to launch massive bursts with additional multipliers, increased toughness damage, and even the potential for wave control in modes such as MOC or Pure Fiction, without spending SP or fretting over buff timings.
Nevertheless, her frequent downtime problems and heavy dependence on Charge buildup significantly reduce her overall consistency compared to general buffers. For players fortunate enough to possess Phainon or Anaxa, she’s an excellent investment, capable of propelling their performance to unprecedented damage thresholds. However, for all other players, she can be considered as a character that is not essential in the game.
