The Third Annual Thunderpick World Championship 2025 features a massive LAN Finals worth $850K in Malta, taking place from October 15-19. Direct invitations were extended to the top four teams from VRS’s Top 10 – The MongolZ, NAVI, Aurora, and FURIA.
An event, distinct from BLAST, PGL, or EFG, could very well be the Thunderpick World Championship 2025 (TWC). This is Counter-Strike’s leading independent offline competition, marking its return for its third and grandest version to date.
As a hardcore gamer, I’m pumped about diving into the TWC LAN Finals happening in Malta from October 15 to 19! This gaming extravaganza is offering a staggering prize pool of $850,000, with a mind-blowing $500,000 for the ultimate victor. Who’s ready to claim that life-changing prize? Let’s get it on!
In its third year, Kelly Sanders, Thunderpick’s Head of Strategy, noted that the Thunderpick World Championship is consistently breaking new ground in the realm of competitive Counter-Strike gaming.
Many great teams globally are heading to Malta, with The MongolZ, last year’s winners, coming back. This promises a thrilling, tension-filled spectacle that fans will remember for a long time.
Thunderpick World Championship 2025 Main Event
In 2025, Tournament World Championship (TWC) will feature four of the world’s top ten ranked teams. Among these, The MongolZ – last year’s champions and projected winners of EWC 2025 – are one of the four teams given a direct qualification. In the latest VRS Rankings update in September, The MongolZ have moved up to the third position, increasing their chances of winning the event.
As a gamer, I’ve just learned that teams like Aurora Gaming (originally ranked #11 in August VRS Rankings), Natus Vincere (#7), and FURIA (#10) were extended direct invites, despite Aurora having a rank higher than their invitational position. It’s fascinating to see how the August VRS Rankings influenced the invitations process.

Closed Qualifiers
As a devoted esports fan, I’m excited about the upcoming Closed Qualifiers! With 16 teams participating, many of which are mid-tier squads, it promises to be an engaging event that showcases the depth and diversity within our community.
One team that has caught my attention is BetBoom. They’ve been on a roll recently, demonstrating impressive form online, which catapulted them up three spots in the latest VRS Rankings! This tournament presents an excellent opportunity for them to further cement their position among the top teams. Let’s cheer them on and witness their potential success unfold!
