This past weekend, David Turner became married to Maureen Lipman, as she had popped the question to him during a train trip the previous year.
79-year-old actress from Coronation Street beamed in a soft pink hue as she pledged her love to her 79-year-old business partner during their wedding ceremony, which she initiated last September.
During the graceful wedding ceremony, a slight disruption occurred as a nationwide emergency alert blared on many phones at 3 am. This caught the bride off guard, momentarily halting the proceedings.

The wedding was beautifully organized, but it took an unexpected turn when a government emergency alert sounded on numerous devices at 3 am, surprising the bride mid-ceremony.
In her 70s, she was a vision in a captivating pink coat dress, accentuated by a bold cream hat and sophisticated, mid-height pointy heels.

Looking every inch her age, yet still radiant, the woman in her seventies dazzled in a stylish pink coat dress, adorned with a striking cream hat with an elegant pointy pair of shoes to match.

The woman in her seventies was nothing short of stunning in a fashionable pink coat dress, complemented by a dramatic cream hat and sleek mid-heel shoes that added a touch of elegance to the overall look.
Later, she removed her coat to reveal her stylish dress hidden beneath, while David also took off his jacket and bowtie, making for a more comfortable evening for both of them.

David cut a distinguished figure, wearing a smart dark-gray suit paired with a bowtie, and completing the look with a traditional kippah, commonly donned by Jewish men as a symbol of respect towards God.
On Monday, during an appearance on This Morning, friend of Maureen, Gyles Brandreth (the one who shared the wedding news earlier) shared that he learned about the government alert under rather intriguing conditions.
He shared that around 2:30, the rabbi announced he had written to the Prime Minister about an upcoming exciting wedding and asked if there was any message in response.
The Prime Minister said, ‘I can’t attend myself, but I have scheduled alarms to go off nationwide instead.’
Last week, Gyles, a frequent co-star on Gogglebox with her, announced that Dame Maureen Lipman is getting married, as he shared on his podcast Rosebud: “I’ll be attending Maureen Lipman’s wedding this coming Sunday.
She’s tying the knot in the morning, but I believe it’s more like the afternoon. Regardless, I’ll make sure to attend. And isn’t it simply marvelous that she’s getting married at such an advanced age? It truly is a wonderful thing.

Last year, Maureen, who stars as Evelyn Plummer on ITV’s soap opera, announced her engagement. In an article for The Spectator, she humorously stated, “Late one evening, my partner David and I decided to inform our kids that, considering our collective age of 156 years, we are planning to tie the knot.
Actually, I hadn’t been particularly fond of the idea, but during our return trip from Edinburgh, he casually brought up an interesting fact – it was the lesser-known celebration of Tu B’Av, a day in Jewish tradition where a woman is permitted to propose marriage to a man.
Instead of being able to contain my laughter, I found myself slipping beneath the table that divided us, kneeling on one knee. To my astonishment and a touch of anxiety, he handed me his hand.
For thirty years, the actress was married to television writer Jack Rosenthal, until his passing in 2004. During this time, they had a daughter named Amy, who is now fifty, and a son named Adam, aged forty-eight.
David also has three children from a previous relationship.

She noted that the kids responded differently, but each reaction was heartfelt.
‘A child mentioned that he required some moments to comprehend it.’ As we shared the information with someone else who was arranging leaves on a fresh table setting, the atmosphere reminded me of a Jack Rosenthal play – a tale, I presume, concluding joyfully.
In the fall of 2023, Maureen initially introduced David as her companion during their outing to the National Television Awards, where she referred to him as her “gentleman friend.
> In an exclusive conversation with The Sunday Express, she mentioned, “I’ll be accompanied by my partner, David.
At 77 years old, the star expressed great joy in experiencing love once more, sharing that life with someone new. She conveyed that this was a blessing for everyone involved, describing it as a ‘gift’ and complimenting him by saying he has been kind. Reflecting on her past encounters, she mentioned meeting some exceptional men and hinted at the possibility of what might unfold in the future.

They first appeared publicly together at the Oldie of the Year Awards in November. At this occasion, Maureen pointed out David, saying, “He is my partner.
For 13 years prior to his passing in 2021, Maureen had been in a relationship with Italian entrepreneur Guido Castro, following the demise of her husband.
In reference to her partner’s passing, Maureen clarified that he contracted COVID-19, but it wasn’t the virus itself that caused his death; rather, it severely weakened him.
‘We don’t know how he got it or when or if he had it when he got the vaccine.’
Maureen sorrowfully remarked, “I told Guido it was time to leave and that he needed to let go. For once, I believe he followed my advice.
